Chained World: Normality is relative [Episode 187512]

"Domestic Specialist, Japanese Cooking, Class B, eh?" asked Genma. If his son would let his old man sell the slave, that sale could net some serious sake money! On the other hand, the girl's cooking was Class B by official ranking. That was good enough to be a head chef at a good restaurant.

"Yeah!" said Shinobu enthusiastically. As Ranma had made her his clan retainer, she could count on sticking with this setup longterm unless she bought out her own contract. She might end up rented out as a cook to restaurants though - nor would she be full use in such instances. Thereby neatly avoiding some of the worst scenarios that Naru and Motoko and Kitsune had brought up.

"Kanagawa shouldn't be a problem though, should it?" asked Ranma. "It ain't like ya got a lead on something that's pressing."

"Actually, Kanagawa works out well enough," said Genma, frowning as something seemed to be working out. "I heard this rumor of a swordfighter of a particularly powerful style in that area and was planning on tracking the fellow down."

Shinobu heard that and wondered if Mokoto had a new sparring partner. "Well, I ought to call ahead and leave a message I'm dropping by."

The Hina Inn itself hadn't changed that much. A few repairs here and there were the only sign of things which had been going on. At least as far as the Inn itself was concerned.

"Shinobu?" asked 'Aunt' Haruka as she answered the phone. "Oh, I see. When? Sometime tomorrow, probably around noon, eh? Sure, sure, I'll tell 'em. So how's the new Master? I see. Well, that's good then."

Haruka put down the phone, taking a deep drag of her cigarette before stubbing the remainder off in an ashtray. Tomorrow would turn out to be interesting, as the dynamic of the group had changed since Shinobu had left. Seeing Shinobu's reaction would be interesting, when she learned that:

• Keitaro was missing, and had been missing for several months now.
• One or more of the various individuals she had known were now "on the block."
• Naru had gotten drunk and ended up in bed with Kitsune and apparently there'd been some of this and that that had gotten fairly loud. To the extent that everyone at the inn had heard, and that Naru and Kitsune were still fairly uncomfortable with each other's presence.
• The talking cabbit that had been looking for Shinobu, declaring that she was a Magical Nurse and so on. (or the special brooch to change her from Shinobu to Magical Chacha?!)
• something else
