* She was in a dingy magic store filled with cursed items.
* The storekeeper watching her was actually a magical illusion. She suspected the real one was running for cover on finding that he'd caught the infamous Lina Inverse.
* There were a large number of items she was completely unfamiliar with here.
"Look you, you can either let me go, or I can blow this place up right now, you understand me?" said Lina to the illusion.
The illusion was apparently not very bright. "You wouldn't dare."
"Wind, crimson flame,
Grant the power of thunder to my hand.
DIGGER BOLT!"
Lightning sprayed out, blowing things up all around the store with satisfying 'booms' and 'bangs'.
"Dispel," said Lina, once the various protective fields had gone down. Now she could leave.
