Oh yes, she was trying. Trying very hard. She knew they tried, after all.
"WAHHHH!"
CRASH
"U-SA-GI! That's it! Take this!"
whip-crak!
"WAHHHHHH!"
"Stand still! I will punish you in high heels!"whip-crak!
"Here you go, Akane-chan," said Hotaru, passing her a cup.
Akane found closing her eyes helped. That way she didn't have to twitch at the sight of Rei using that red leather whip to try and punish Usagi. Again. Yeesh. You'd think they did this on purpose.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" said a human Setsuna, running through the clearing.
"One," counted Akane. "Two. Three."
"Good stamina, don't you think?" said Batsuna, going lazily along behind her counterpart.
"Do you have any idea what is up with that?" Akane asked Hotaru.
Hotaru just held her hands up and shook her head, quite obviously not understanding this latest development herself.
"Okay," said Akane, coming up with an idea. "Hotaru, Makoto, I think I saw Haruka and Michiru earlier. I'm counting on you two to protect me."
Makoto looked up from where she was making the stew and smiled before nodding in reply. Akane turned her attention to Hotaru who looked very uncertain, but she nodded too.
Akane settled back. She didn't need help. She was a martial artist of course. On the other hand, having someone grabbing her in the middle of the night wouldn't be welcome AT ALL.
"That's interesting," said Haruka softly to herself, sitting on a tree branch as she watched her prey.
Oh yes, she was quite aware on some level of what Mimette had done. Scrambled things so that neither their civilian identities or Sailor identities were quite the same. ALL of them had magical talents as they were MAGICAL pets. Probably not something that Mimette had intended.
Haruka and Michiru and Setsuna (or Batsuna as she frequently referred to herself) had a discussion about that. Haruka thought it was leakage from their Senshi identities, modifying the magical rewrite even as the device tried to make them helpless and adoring pets. Setsuna thought it was the tendency of Nerima and Ranma Saotome to screw up plans beyond typical results. Michiru went with karma, and Mimette had a caseful of the bad kind.
Setsuna retained her ability to disappear and reappear, could fly, use sonar, and was more flexible than ever. Certainly she'd never been able to hang from the ceiling with her toes before the change, which she now did regularly.
Michiru could shift from land-form to water-form at need, and had discovered that she could manage a few magical effects while playing music. She didn't do too well with a violin if she was in the water, but she DID know a few other instruments after all. It was just that she specialized in violin.
As for herself, Haruka was a kitsune. She could manage to do the old ninja trick of blending in with her surroundings by a sort of illusion projection.
Which, she had found, made peeping in various bathing areas and locker rooms MUCH more entertaining.
She stopped after one set of leaps, reorienting to discover what had drawn her attention. Someone was watching her? But who? Oh.
Haruka dropped her illusion of not being there, as it didn't fool him anyway, and waved briefly to her Master before going off to rejoin Michiru.
Ranma just resettled himself on the treebranch and grumbled something that sounded vaguely uncomplimentary about having to spend time watching over someone who was not going to be grateful at all.
