The three of them made it to the Hokage's office. They got some strange looks along the way, undoubtedly some people recognized Naruto. She wasn't appreciating this at all and even commented about it to Sakura; however, Sakura pointed out that everyone would find out eventually anyway.
After having the situation explained to her, Tsunade stood up and looked down at Naruto. "I know about the training grounds."
Sakura stepped forward and asked, "So you can cure Naruto?"
"Those grounds are called...Jusenkyou," Tsunade explained, "Falling in once gives you a tolerable life at best. Your life would be one of constant fear of water. The stories I've heard is that those curses can break the greatest of men. If you fall in twice, however, the curse is permanent. There is no cure, I'm sorry. That magic is ancient and strong. Curses become stronger over time. No one is even sure where that place came from."
Naruto sulked. "So...there's no hope?"
Taking a moment, Tsunade thought and then replied, "For you? Of course. You were fortunate. In your case, you're still human. You can live a perfectly normal life. It's just that you're a girl now. The best medicine I can give you is advice: accept how you are now or you'll just drive yourself mad."
Gripping her hand into a fist, Naruto screamed, "How can I do that?! I'm a man! I'm a man and now I'm stuck in this body of a girl!"
Tsunade walked over swiftly and slapped Naruto across the face.
Sakura's eyes widened. "Master! How..."
Looking down at Naruto, Tsunade maintained a face of stone. "How foolish of me. Here I thought you actually might have what it takes to become the Sixth Hokage. So this is the limit of your resolve, huh? Tch!"
Shizune looked at Naruto and then to Tsunade. "Tsu-Tsunade-sama..."
Tsuande turned her back on the trembling Naruto and said, "I actually had something special for your return, Naruto-kun, but why should I test your strength?"
"So that's it then?" Jiraiya said unexpectedly.
"Yes," Tsuande answered simply.
"She can handle any test you give her. You shouldn't be so quick to doubt her ability."
Turning on her heel, she shot at Jiraiya, "Yes, I'm sure Naruto-kun had the ability to become a great ninja, but this..." She looked at Naruto. "All I see here is a scared little girl."
Suddenly, Naruto grabbed Tsunade's coat and glared up at her. "Don't...you dare underestimate me, baa-chan! I will become the Hokage! I will become the second female Hokage and it will be right after you!! So...watch your back from now on, got that?!" '
Tsuande smirked at her. "It seems like you got your fire back. Good."
Sakura smiled at Naruto and thought, Naruto... You've grown up a little after all, haven't you?
Tsunade turned around again to face Naruto and then she acknowledged Sakura. "You will need that fire to face your test. Your opponent will be..."
