While one Harry James Metallium Potter was walking back to his dorm after a friendly encounter with a local troll, the human Harry James Potter was undergoing something else.
He was grabbing as much sleep as he could.
Xellos was an intelligent individual. He understood the major flaw of Ruby-Eye Shabranigdo’s desire: if everything was destroyed, what would the Mazoku feed upon?
He was curious, if nothing else; this had led him to a Staff not listed among the four that stood within the Sea of Chaos. What did this mean? What could he do with this? What more was not known that needed to be known?
Raising a human child wasn’t that hard for him to accomplish. Granted, caring and affection were hard to do, given the fact he was a Mazoku. But trainers and such could be found to do such.
No, the hard part would be when and where to complete another possible mission. Dear Lina had been so helpful in finding a complete version of the Claire Bible. Sure, he was supposed to destroy it as a mission. But they never said he had to do it immediately.
But he was off topic. Hmm, perhaps he needed to spend a bit less time in his human form. Well that, or find Lina a new mission to go on. She had been rather boring these months since the whole ‘vessel of L-sama’ incident.
Maybe have Harry tag along for a bit? He could always teleport them during the night and leave them near Luna. That could be good for some laughs. A family reunion was supposed to be an enjoyable time, after all.
He turned a bit, looking past the long distance of field between him and the window that separated him from his young charge. A glowing light that seemed a bit too ethereal was a sign that what he wished to happen was happening.
One of his main wants was to thoroughly mess up those plans made for young Harry in his own world. And the plan had gone pretty well. Even now, they were pinning their hopes on a Mazoku to save them from a big bad Dark Lord with parental issues. And the boy was creating chaos, even if it was tame by Xellos’s own standards.
It was enough that it made Xellos a proud papa.
But could he mess them up more?
Could he perhaps create a little L-sama for that staff? Oh, he was sure the Mother of All Creation might not take too kindly if he simply created a Mazoku Lord there from Harry. She might be tempted to send or create a Shinzoku or a Ryuzoku to create balance. And while she might not, it never hurt to be a bit careful in activities that could upset the Mother of All.
So what did he have now to work with? A Mazoku Harry that was creating chaos on his world, a Harry in this world that had spent the majority of his life studying the magic Xellos found for him as well as the fighting arts, and a desire to see if perhaps he could create something never before seen.
Now, he asked himself, what would happen if young Harry contained the essence of Shinzoku or a Ryuzoku, and was fused with a Mazoku version of himself?
Not that it was the current final goal, he didn’t like to set anything in stone, chaos being what it was and ensuring plans almost never went to perfection. But the options were always nice to have.
Though as the light in the distant window faded, he had to enjoy the opportunities it allowed.
After all, Luna Inverse had just seeded a small sliver of the soul fragment of Ceiphied into his charge—no doubt in her effort to try and sway the young mage from whatever diabolical plans Xellos was making for him. And with that sliver, the boy stood a greater chance of not only gaining access to the Claire Bible much like Lina had to complete the Ragna Blade, but of being able to contain the massive information within the Claire Bible itself.
Information, no matter what world, was power. And who knew what even a Mazoku could use from such a massive reserve of that information, provided it didn’t implement a failsafe to keep from overwhelming the human mind.
So many possibilities to have the boy sow chaos on two worlds, so little time. Hell, he still wasn’t even sure when he would send Harry back, let alone if he would fuse them together. Ah, such was his life.
“Sleep well, Young Potter,” Xellos said with a smirk, as he prepared to teleport away once again for the night. Watching Luna try and convert his charge as well as train him was enjoyable entertainment at times. “You have a grand destiny before you, and we can’t have it wrecked until we are ready to do so.”
If there was one thing Harry now knew about trolls it was this: even their blood stunk. “I do hope this comes out,” he muttered. The last thing he wanted to deal with was having to wear robes that smelled like trolls.
He also made a mental note to add tonight’s fiasco to his list. Safety apparently was also not an important issue at the school, if his own Head of House hadn’t known he wasn’t supposedly safe. Part of him wondered why he hadn’t been ordered to the Great Hall. The other students should have all been there at the moment eating, and it was a bit closer to him than the Gryffindor Common Room.
“Such an odd day,” he mused. Oh well, he got to kill a troll and found a few more things to add to his list. Minus the hug from Granger, the day was starting to look up.
“Are you sure, Albus?” asked McGonagall in a near whisper. Hermione was unconscious, being floated towards the hospital wing by Flitwick. Snape was examining the troll, while Quirrell looked close to passing out once again.
“Quite sure,” said the Headmaster. “It would appear that Mr. Potter killed the troll with a single punch to the chest.”
Snape growled softly, trying to find something that would explain how Potter had done this. He wouldn’t accept that the boy had been able to do such. No, it had to be another trick as far as he was concerned. “And I suppose you’ll claim this is another result of the survived Killing Curse, Albus?” he asked.
“I’m afraid I do not have the answers you desire, Severus,” he said. “But I do think it is time I had a chat with Mr. Potter.”
McGonagall sighed. The boy certainly hadn’t looked like he had met the troll, let alone killed one. Just what was he?
