The Senshi meeting was somewhat unusual. It was in Makoto’s apartment, a relatively uncommon meeting place for the warriors of Love and Justice™. The Outers were present without any cajoling on the part of the Inners, betraying the severity of the situation. Intriguingly, to an outside observer, at least, every Senshi was completely nude. However, this was explained by the strangest fact of all:
Each and every Sailor Senshi was currently a cat.
Not a catgirl, not a feline furry, not a moderately evolved descendant of a hypothetical Felis erectus, but a quadrupedal housecat, suitable for rescuing by fireman or hoarding by crazy old lady. More specifically, each Senshi was currently the breed of cat used by Mau as an alternate form, except that each bore her planetary symbol on her forehead rather than a crescent moon. (Usagi excepted, of course.)
This ties in to the second strangest property of the meeting: Luna and Artemis were presently human, or humanoid, at least. Luna was wearing what Ami had on prior to the spontaneous species swap, and Artemis wore Haruka’s ensemble. Thankfully, the Juuban weirdness tolerance level nearly matched that of a Ranmaverse Nerima, so no one questioned the young couple who was stumbling around like toddlers with nine cats in tow. As long as the didn’t plan on draining lifeforce or extracting costume jewelry out of people, no one bothered them.
“Well,” said Luna after some consideration. “I’d say this officially qualifies as problematic.”
“As if that wasn’t the understatement of the century,” replied Artemis.
“I don’t suppose you guys just happened to remember how to transform out of your cat bodies at the same moment we got put into them?” Minako asked, voice full of empty hope.
Luna sighed. “As far as I can tell, no. Our sudden change was as unexpected as yours, and somewhat more problematic at that.”
“More problematic!?” exclaimed Haruka. “You get opposable thumbs, at least!”
“And millennia since we last used them,” Artemis countered. “Ditto for only two legs.” He sighed. “As is, we’ll have to master bipedalism all over again.”
“We have worse problems than your coordination,” said Ami. “Not only do we not know how this effects our Senshi transformations, we have lives to live. My mother is definitely going to notice if I’m gone, and a blue cat telling her it’s her daughter id not going to go over well.”
“To say nothing of Crystal Tokyo,” Setsuna added.
“And we have absolutely no records of even existing,” said Luna. “Not as humans, in any case.”
Artemis sighed. “It gets worse.
