Penn-Penn chuckled at that. “No, no, other planeswalkers. There are some popular spots in the multiverse for my ilk, and when the clientele has all of existence to choose from, popularity means there must be something worthwhile about a place.” Indeed, the Evaverses were fairly popular themselves, especially with that one fellow in the bathrobe. Of course, Penn-Penn didn’t plan on telling Shinji that, especially given the hijinks the boy’s analogues got caught up in.
“So you’ll revive Asuka there?”
“Would you rather her wake up to see this,” Penn-Penn swept a flipper over the dystopian landscape, “or a nice wooded glen?”
“Point taken. Where will you take us?”
“Hmm, let’s see…” Penn-Penn produced a small volume entitled Zzzyxas’s Survey: Your Guide to the Best Places to Planeswalk, 2157th Edition. The penguin thumbed through the book with surprising dexterity, given his lack of thumbs. “Hmm. No, they have the wrong physiology for there.” Flip. “Primarily carbon monoxide atmosphere. Definitely not.” Flip. “I didn’t know you could do that with a parakeet. Intriguing, but not helpful.” Dog-ear. Flip. “Ah, perfect!” Penn-Penn looked up and gave a beaked semblance of a grin. “Our destination is set. Grab Asuka.”
Shinji swallowed. Sure, he’d tried to strangle her, but that had been in a fit of blind rage. Besides, he still hasn’t entirely sure if she would remember that incident in the hospital and deliver a roundhouse the second she was awakened. To Shinji, Asuka had two speeds: Walk, and Kill. Still, this would help her, and he hated seeing her like this. So, after this internal struggle, Shinji obeyed Penn-Penn, who nodded in approval.
