‘Okay,’ Naruto thought to himself a little worried as he looked around where he was. ‘Who called in the redecorator?’ Naruto knew for a fact exactly where he was, that being within his mindscape near where the Kyuubi dwelled. During the early exercising of his blood powers Naruto had discovered how to enter and exit his mindscape. After this ability of his was discovered, Naruto spent many hours mapping out his mindscape in order to make sure that the Kyuubi was not manipulating him in any way.
These facts being known, one can easily understand Naruto’s worry and uneasiness. The cage where the Kyuubi was supposed to be was gone, not moved but gone like it never was there. In its place was an ornate Stone doorway with gold painted steeps ascending from it. Naruto was able to calm himself down to the point where he was able to do a quick probe of his own mind to search for the Kyuubi. The probe had returned with the results a few minutes latter without a trace of the Kyuubi.
Naruto honestly didn’t know what to feel about the fact that the Kyuubi was gone. It had been a secret dream of his to find a way to rid himself forever of the Kyuubi, but he had honestly never thought that it could happen. Now that he would never have to worry about metal contamination from the Kyuubi ever again he almost started to dance. However, a fear started to grow in his heart. He asked himself, what could have the power to kill the strongest Demon ever known? Did such a force rid the demon out of benevolence, or was there a darker goal in mind?
Naruto shock his head and then slapped his face to get rid of such thoughts. He would never know the answers to his questions as long as he was ‘standing’ where he was. There was only one place Naruto could think of that might hold the answers he sought, and he would never be able to go there unless he got rid of such cowardly thoughts. If his father Minato could stare Death and the Kyuubi combined and not break down then he could certainly walk up a few steeps!
These thoughts of his were able to fortify Naruto determination and he then started walking up the golden stairs never looking back. Due to the fact that it was a very long walk up the stairs Naruto started to pay attention to the walls around the stairs. All over the walls were drawings of different kinds that Naruto couldn’t make sense. Some of the drawings would look to us like Egyptian hieroglyphs, Others like Mayan temple carvings, and yet still others seemed like they were inspired by Hindu religious art. These and other styles merged and flowed into each other in a way that Naruto from his point of view just couldn’t follow.
Finally Naruto was able to get up all the stairs and see what was at the top. The view that he saw, quite frankly, took his breath away while leaving him dumfounded. The floor he was standing was a white marble platform without any walls or roof. In front of him past the platform was a massive wall like formation of rock. Embedded into the rock wall were ten MASSAVE doors that looked like they were made of solid gold. On the doors were carved an image of a bird with its wings out in flight. Underneath this image on all the doors were carved the Japanese kanji for the numbers 1-10 going from left to right.
Naruto started to walk towards these doors and then a few minutes latter he almost fell over. Regaining his balance and backing up a bit Naruto looked where he was going and almost screamed in surprise. Between him and the huge stone wall was a gargantuan canyon. Naruto got on his hands and knees so that he could safely look over the edge of the floor and into the canyon. At the bottom of the canyon was a small blue line that looked like a river calmly flowing.
Naruto looked around himself to try and decide what to do next. He had almost given up trying to get the answers he wanted when something caught his eyes. Turning his head in the direction that had caught his interest Naruto spotted something that would allow him to move forward. Between the doors on the wall baring the numbers 5 and 6 a bridge could be seen. From Naruto’s vantage point he could see that the bridge went OVER the massive rock wall before it disappeared from view. Naruto started the long walk over to the bridge so that he could continue on his quest for answers.
