Looking over the list of potential fathers, Ranma Saotome’s name at the top of the list caught Peorth’s attention. Reading over the young man’s bio Peorth couldn’t help but be impressed with what she was seeing. Although Ranma could be a little harsh in his speech and also had a horrible case of foot in mouth disease, he could say the sweetest things. Over all, Ranma was a hands’ on kind of guy who liked to let his actions speak for him and not his words. He wasn’t above tricking his enemies to gain the advantage, but over all he had a reasonable moral code. While he was younger he had a huge ego and a fierce competitive nature; however, he had lately mellowed out a good deal and toned down his ego.
When looking over his domestic, academic, and relationship history Peorth’s eyes bulged out. Although not from a ‘normal family’ Ranma had come to hold the idea of family values and family honor quite highly. Academically speaking, Ranma wasn’t the best student; however, he wasn’t that bad and was now finishing up his final year of college with a degree in physical education and writing. It seems that he thought his crazy adventures would make a great source for books.
But what made Peorth really happy was the fact that Ranma was at the moment single. After the so-called ‘wedding fiasco’ and before he left for college two years latter Ranma was able to get out of the various engagements his father had ‘wisely’ gotten him into. Uyko’s engagement was taken care of by him winning a duel against her father. The Tendo agreement was dissolved after Happossai, in a rare moment of being a true teacher, declared that Ranma was a master of Anything Goes. He also declared that Akane could not be named the Tendo heir due to her lack of sufficient skills for mastery and zero knowledge of the distinct Tendo branch of the school. As Soun and Genma didn’t want to get up and train her, the agreement was declared broken on the Tendo side. Shampoo’s ‘engagement’ was voided by Cologne due to the fact that Ranma had, over a summer stay in China during his Junior Year break, managed to become the War-master for both the Musk and the Phoenix people. This position of his put him at odds with the Amazon council who were forced to rule that he was too dangerous to try and bring into the village and better off left alone.
Finally Peorth came to Ranma’s battle statistics. While a good deal of his early childhood battles were to be quite frankly odd, all of his major battles were extremely impressive. Ranma was quick, skilled, highly intelligent, and very adaptive. These facts about Ranma, when combined with his superhuman physical and Ki stats, lead to a fighter who was able to beat foes that were far stronger than him in one or two areas.
Peorth sat back in her chair and closed her eyes so that she could think clearly. Did she REALLY want to do this? Could she spend the rest of Ranma’s life down on Earth? A little fact that most mortals or demons for that matter didn’t know was that if a goddess, of her own consent, bedded a mortal man then she was bound to the Earth for the rest of said mortal’s life. Sure they could return to heaven for a time, but they would always be forced to return to the Earth. That was where the Japanese got their myths about the heavenly maidens’ celestial robes.
Peorth shook away such depressing thoughts. The Earth, especially now, wasn’t that bad of a place to spend 80 or so years. Besides, a century of her discomfort was a small thing to give up in order that the people of Earth were protected from threats and bad divine management. Also, it wasn’t like Ranma was that bad of a person to spend that time with. Now all she had to do was to get impregnated by said soon-to-be-father-to-be.
