"Awwww," said one of the members of Midnight Musume, going forward to pet the cute lil' critter.
"SQUII!" trilled the creature.
"Squiii!" came from multiple sources all around the crystal city.
"Oh hell," said one of the perky little girls, "not again."
Little furballs began popping up everywhere, then closed their eyes and opened their bodies up, revealing that they were actually 95% mouth with tiny little needle-sharp teeth. After this they began surrounding the group, with what looked like carnivoristic intentions.
"WAHHHHH!" said Asuka. "Next time I wanna gun!"
"Here ya go," said one of the prop-boys.
"Huh? Wha?" asked Asuka, taking the thing. "What is this?"
"A Beretta 92FS," said the prop-boy. "Or more accurately an M9. You know how to use one?"
"Actually," said Asuka, a strange gleam showing in her eyes.
There was a sudden leap of a group of the furballs towards the mostly-cringing and screaming group of girls and stage crew.
BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM!
"AHHHH! ASUKA'S GOT A GUN?!" screamed several members of Midnight Musume.
"Demographics show that 'girls with guns' could be the next moe group to take off," confided the director.
The little things began closing their mouths to stare at the splattered group of furballs.
"Wow, I hit them," said Asuka. "So that's what recoil feels like. Ouch."
"Where'd you learn to shoot?" asked the prop-boy.
"Huh? Oh, I had a bit part in a zombie movie," explained Asuka. "My character lasted less than two minutes but there was a guy on set to explain stances and stuff like that so it would at least look good."
"Squiiiiiiiii," said several of the furballs.
"Quick, let's get off a Sexy Beam while they're confused!" said Aya.
"Let's run!" suggested Natsumi.
"Yeah!" seconded most of Midnight Musume.
Ranma stared at the screen. "They're doing a lot better than I expected."
"You were expecting them all to die horribly?" asked a technician.
"Well, yeah," said Ranma. "Or more likely - get chased around the city."
"They're getting chased around the city now," pointed out the tech.
"Yeah, but this time they actually managed to do some damage to the menace," said Ranma. "That's a lot better than the last two times."
"Those things are biologically impossible," offered another tech. "They'd have to be bio-engineered constructs."
"Looks like Ryoga's found another type," said Ranma, pointing to the different picture from the rover.
