Magic Prince Ranma: Dragons rarely sneak. [Episode 19818]

by Kestral

Tarre clung to Ranma, terrified of the goblins.

Years ago, she had hatched and found herself in a cage. Then the tortures had begun.

Cruel barbed sticks to prod her, branding irons, flesh piercing hooks. Growing in a small cage with the nastybad goblins - who made no secret that they were going to eat her. She could even see the remains of her shellmates about. The meat would be eaten, armor made of scales, weapons made of claws and bone, what was left would be sold to evil wizards and the like.

She'd been rescued, and she understood the wizards hadn't been thrilled with saving "an evil dragon" - but then someone had hit on the idea of giving the beast to the Prince.

Nobody had ever loved or trusted her before Ranma. Ranma liked her. He was her friend. Even if the magic that kept her in elven form only operated for a few hours a day, she spent as much time in that form and as near to Ranma as she could.

Yes, she was still an evil dragon. But she tried. She had even volunteered for the Geas, as it helped reign in those desires for things that society tended to frown on.

Now here she was, confronted with more nastybad evilfilthy goblins. Ranma would protect her. She wouldn't...

There was a cry of pain from within one of the heavy iron cages being rolled out of the spelljammer.

"Slavers," said Mira, eyes narrowed at the sight.

"Okay, Mira, you use a Sending spell to let the castle know what we've found. Then we'll attack from three angles with you two in your dragon form. Do a quick in and out, while they're in disarray I'll open the cages."
