The penguin leaned over and winked, which Shinji found utterly strange, as a penguin's face was not made for casually winking in the same way a human's face is. "Don't mess up the suits."
Whatever Shinji and Asuka had been expecting, this wasn't it. "The...suits...?" Shinji muttered, mostly to himself.
"Well, they're uniforms, actually. Uniforms." He waved his flipper in the universal "six in one hand, half a dozen in the other" gesture (though Shinji and Asuka, not as well-versed in Universal Flipperese, missed it). "High school uniforms. A lot more fancy that the ones you're used to." Penn-Penn suddenly looked smug, which is a very impressive expression for a penguin to master. "It's my doing, you know! Just dipped my beak into someone's business here, messed up a Very Important Transaction here, and voilą! Suits!"
"..."
"Oh, don't look at me like that. I'm a penguin, you know. I'm naturally inclined towards suits. Anyway!" Penn-Penn took out a pen (from where, exactly, Shinji was unable to tell and was quite uncertain of whether he wanted to know) and began scribbling down something on a scrap of paper (ditto). "Alright, now, I've got you two a couple of room in an apartment block. Until you can get on your feet, your rent will be taken care of my a Mysterious Benefactor." He neared closer to Shinji and Asuka and lowered his voice to a mock whisper. "That's me, by the way."
Asuka frowned. "We already figured that out."
"I hadn't." mumbled Shinji.
"And of course, you'll be going to this high school, so here's the address...and there." Penn-Penn held out the paper, which Shinji hesitantly took. "You two are transferees, by the way, so act the part. Or don't, doesn't really harm anyone but you two. Well, cheerio!"
"Hold on!" Asuka shouted. "You can't just leave us with that—"
"Sorry, afraid I have to. Analogues to save, worlds to travel, have to do the time warp again and all that!" Penn-Penn raised a flipper in a salute and very calmly began to fade out of existence with a 'vworp vworp vworp' sound.
"And remember, Shinji, don't mess up the suits! I love the s—"
And then the penguin was gone, the only hint he'd ever been there the piece of paper in Shinji's hand.
