Ikuko Tsukino was heating up some leftover pancakes for breakfast when she and her husband Kenji heard the front door open. The two of them rushed towards the front door hoping that it was Usagi coming home. Both of them knew about their daughter’s double life as a Sailor Senshi; it’s hard for a daughter to keep a secret from her parents for so long when said daughter has a habit of talking in her sleep. When Usagi didn’t come home last night they had stayed up most of the night worried that something had happened, something relating to the Senshi.
Both of the elder Tsukinos turned the corner to see Usagi walk in with Ranma right behind her. It was quite obvious to them that something had happened to their, in all but blood, daughter; her larger bust line and change of clothes only emphasized that there was a change. Ikuko, as was agreed by her and her husband last night, started off asking Usagi questions in a polite and concerned manner. “Usagi, where were you last night? Your father and I were so worried. Is everything aright, and who is this young man with you?”
Ranma moved next to Usagi and discreetly, although Kenji and Ikuko were able to catch the gesture, squeezed Usagi’s hand. The physical contact of her mate gave Usagi the courage to answer her worried parents’ questions. She then started in a slightly nervous tone, “Well you see, you know how I am adopted. It turns out that my birth parents weren’t entirely… well they weren’t entirely human.”
At this Ikuko and Kenji looked at each other in slight confusion. They didn’t know that Usagi knew that she was adopted; and it seemed that this fact seemed to make Usagi very nervous. They also weren’t sure what Usagi meant by not being entirely human, but they had promised to love Usagi no matter what happened in her life long ago. Ikuko and her husband just gave a comforting small smile to Usagi as Ikuko spoke up. “Usagi, no matter what has happened or will happen; you’re our daughter and we’ll love you. You can tell us anything about yourself without fear of rejection.”
This acceptance by her parents gave Usagi the courage to fully explain the situation. Usagi then spent then next ten minutes going into detail about what she and Ranma now were, both biologically and in relation to each other. The elder Tsukinos calmly listened to what Usagi was telling them. After it was all over Ikuko spoke. “Usagi, no matter what happens in your life you’ll still be our little girl. This latest twist will take us a bit of time to fully get used to, but we accept you and your new ‘mate’ anyway.”
