Ikuko then turned to Usagi and said, “Usagi, there’s something you need to know. Last night, Chibi-Usa fell seriously ill and she’s getting worse. Your father and I both know that Chibi-Usa is your daughter from the future. Don’t look so surprised dear, you talk in your sleep. We want to know, could these sudden changes that you and your new husband have undergone have anything to do with her illness?”
The news about Chibi-Usa’s illness hit Usagi extremely hard. Then Usagi’s brain froze up when she realized that, due to the fact that it was now impossible for the Chibi-Usa she knew to have been born, Chibi-Usa was being ‘erased out of’ the time stream.
Ranma sensed his mate’s distress over the looming death of one of her children. Among Darkstalkers and other demons, children were all important. Even the most ruthless of demons would take in the orphaned children of his most hated foes. Ranma racked his brain to try and find a solution to save the little girl that he didn’t know, but knew was important to his mate.
Suddenly, and in true Anything Goes style, Ranma figured out a solution. Ranma then got everyone’s attention and said, “I’ve got it. I know of a way to save the little girl. Chibi-Usa currently can’t exist due to the fact that she is from a future that can’t happen, therefore Chibi-Usa’s body is failing her. The girl can’t be sent back to that future because it doesn’t exist anymore. However-” and at this everyone was looking at him wondering what rabbit he would pull out of his hat, “-the body is just a container for her soul and mind. What if we give her soul and mind a new container?”
Everyone was wondering just what Ranma was talking about. Seeing the confusion on their faces Ranma continued to explain his idea. “Succubae, or as the case is here a Succubus/Vampire, have the ability to take the souls of women, or any young girls too, and eat them. Don’t look shocked Mr. and Mrs. Tsukino, those tales about us do have there basis in fact. Just so you know, both Usagi and I find the idea very tasteless and have alternate means of feeding that are not so deadly.”
“What I’m proposing is that Usagi absorbs Chibi-Usa’s soul. Then, instead of digesting the soul in her stomach, Usagi implants the soul into her own womb. There, via regular means, a new body will be formed for the girl. Usagi could then carry Chibi-Usa to term and give birth to the girl. Chibi-Usa would retain all of her memories, but she would now be acceptable to the timeline and thus wouldn’t have to worry about being deleted.”
Usagi and her parents blinked their eyes a few times processing what Ranma had just suggested. A small grin started to appear on Usagi’s face. She then kissed Ranma full on the mouth and whispered into his ear, “You’ve definitely earned a treat tonight Ranma.” Usagi then shifted into her ‘battle mode’ and marched up the stairs to save Chibi-Usa.
