Ranma took a look around the plaza that Usagi had transported the two of them to trying to find a good place to start their exploration. A gleam of light caught Ranma’s eye and he turned his head to spot a computer screen. Placing his hand on Usagi’s shoulder, Ranma said, “Usagi, why don’t we take a look at that computer over there? I don’t know; maybe there’ll be some information in the computer that could prove useful to us.”
Usagi turned her head to look at where Ranma’s gaze was at and she smiled. Usagi, thanks to being able to fully access her past life’s memories due to her Darkstalker brain, instantly recognized what type of terminal it was. Giving Ranma a quick peak on the cheek, Usagi cheerfully jumped up in the air in front of Ranma and said, “Good eye Ranma! That’s an Omega terminal you’ve found. All Omega terminals are connected to the Primary Royal Computer Network. With that terminal, we’ll be able to access all the important information that the ruins contain. That will make our search go a whole lot faster.”
Usagi then ran over to the terminal and was followed by Ranma a few seconds behind her. Standing in front of the computer, Usagi gently tapped the royal emblem that was drawn above the monitor. As if sensing Ranma’s question, Usagi started talking while she was using the keyboard. “The Primary Royal Computer Network or the PRCN; has access to EVERYTHING that was electronically stored in the Silver Millennium. In order to prevent hackers from getting in, a two steep security feature was added to all Omega terminals. First, a person would have to hit a hidden switch and no two switches were in the same place for each terminal. As the Moon Princess, I had all of the hidden switches’ locations’ memorized. Finally, there are 24 different ‘Omega class’ codes. Each terminal will need four specific Omega class codes in order to access the PRCN and those Omega class codes very from terminal to terminal.”
Usagi finished her explanation to Ranma just as she entered the last Omega class code to access the PRCN. Columns of pictograms in different colors started shooting up from the bottom of the computer screen. Ranma was completely confused as to what he saw displayed before him. Turning his head slightly Ranma could see that Usagi was apparently comprehending what the computer was displaying. Ranma then cocked his head and said, “Usagi, what exactly are we looking at?”
Usagi blushed slightly as she had forgotten for a moment that Ranma didn’t have her past memories to help him read the display. Usagi then motioned to the screen with her finger and said, “The PRCN is currently displaying all of the major files in its data banks by name. The colors that the file names are displayed in have different meanings. Some colors show that the files are for hardware, other colors show that the files are just data files. Also, the colors tell the condition of the hardware or data. Finally, one particular color shows that the PRCN can’t connect to that particular file.”
Ranma quietly nodded his head when he heard Usagi’s explanation. It seemed like a reasonable system to him for giving the viewer access to a lot of information at a glance. Turning back to look at Usagi as she gazed at the monitor, Ranma noticed that Usagi’s eyes were getting bigger. Very quickly Usagi’s eyes bulged out and she cried out,-
