Secrets of the Saotome Clan: Trinkets, Talismans and Trophies Galore [Episode 199756]

by RGN & G20 Inc.

After first double- and then triple-checking to see that no one was spying, Ranma quickly walked to the treasure chest and flung it open. Inside, he found all manner of things, from weapons to rings & amulets, from paintings to tapestries to books, far more than could be reasonably placed inside such a small container, and some of them too large to fit even if they were placed inside on their own. What Ranma wasn't to know was that both chests were actually magical items known as Chests of Infinite Storage, but that's a different story.

Poking and prying through the contents, he eventually had an array of items scattered on the floor that he felt like taking a further look at. What would have surprised some was that a large number of these items were weapons- well, while Ranma didn't specialise in their use, he could wield weapons with pretty decent (by his standards) skill, and the fact that these were heirlooms of his family meant he had a valid interest in checking them out. He wondered why some of them had tags attached with black stars on them though.

The other items also had tags, but these tags bore the apparent name on one side and a short description of their powers on the other. One of the first of these items that came to his attention was a weird-looking mask, apparently the "Dream Walker's Mask". According to the tag, placing it upon your face before you went to sleep would allow you to enter and manipulate the dreams of other people. Ranma was hard-pressed for a moment to figure out what possible use that might be, then reasoned it might be a way to try prying some new techniques out of the "sensei" he knew.

An amulet with a design of an unblinking eye bore the title "Mind's Eyes Meet". Apparently, by making eye contact with another person, Ranma could use it to enter their mindscape. One question: just what the hell was a 'mindscape' anyway? Still, maybe he should give it a whirl- easiest way to find out.

There were plenty of other items; the Saotomes of the past had evidently run into a lot more magic than Ranma had, and they'd been able to capture/control it. There was more magic gathered in this one place than Ranma had seen in the course of the last year or so, so he wondered what to do first.
