Putting the violin back in its sturdy travel case, Michiru walked over to where her clothes were stored and started to look through them in order to decide what to wear. While not the designer style clothes that her mother insisted everyone in the family wear, Michiru liked here selection. Ranma, unlike other slave owners she could name, let her pick out her own clothes. Also Ranma stressed function over form and never saw why someone would want to buy clothes that would fall apart in serious physical labor. Thus Michiru, who admired Ranma's down to earth common sense in this instance, only had clothes that could take a sever amount of abuse to them and were easy to repair. Not that her clothes were ugly by any stretch of the imagination; in fact she was able to turn quite a few heads with her attire.
While the fact that her looks could turn heads did feed her ego a bit, Michiru really didn't care what those boys thought. Those hormonal idiots were nothing but a minor annoyance. True, some of them had the nerve to ask Ranma if they could 'borrow' her for the evening. However Ranma would always say no and told them that, if they asked again, they would only be fit to be a harem guard.
Michiru's cheeks got warm when she thought about those instances. While she might be a 'full use' slave, Ranma had never once demanded anything of that sort from her. One time she managed to find the courage to ask him why that was. His answer still warmed her heart to this day, "Michiru, it just wouldn't be right to do that to you without your permission."
She may not have served Ranma in THAT manner, but Michiru had found many ways to make herself useful to Ranma. Whether it was as a domestic help, a private tutor, or just being a friendly ear Michiru was there for Ranma. It was with her that Ranma confided all of his fears, worries, and dreams. Ranma hid nothing from her, not even the fact that he and his father originated from a different universe. Although Michiru was at first surprised by that revelation, she was immensely touched by the trust Ranma showed in her to reveal such a secret.
Once she was finished changing into a green dress and red top, Michiru turned around and headed over to her notebook. Flipping over the covering of the notebook, Michiru looked at the various numbers listed inside. Grabbing a nearby newspaper, Michiru looked and found the stock pages. After finding the companies that were listed Michiru made the appropriate changes in her notebook.
Although Ranma loved his father, Ranma wouldn't trust Genma with money at all. While Genma always managed to get his hands on some of Ranma's winnings from various tournaments; the elder Saotome couldn't get it all. The money that Ranma could keep in his hands was sent into stocks, bonds, and other forms of investment. Knowing that he didn't have a great head of that sort of thing, Ranma asked Michiru to oversee his investments. Having a slave handle such affairs was rare but not unheard of; it was just that few people would put such trust into a slave. Once she had updated her notebook, Michiru placed the newspaper down and turned to look at the door.
