Sitting in front of her was a man dressed in rough clothing and a blaster slung with the ease of common use. A blaster scar ran up the left side of his face, from chin to hairline, passing through the corner of his eye. Behind him stood two armed men, who looked like they'd been drug out not for their intelligence.
"Now, Miss Tate, let's try this again," drawled the man sitting in front of her.
The redhead snorted. "Go to Hell..."
"Come now. By now it should clear that it is much more comfortable for you if you just answer a few simple questions."
"Ain't got anything to tell..."
"Are you sure about that? I'd hate to shock you again if I thought you did," he said as he cupped her chin in one hand, "A pretty girl like you would go for a lot of credits. Not even in a brothel, but in... private service. Just tell me what I want to know and all this will go away and you'll find pleasure in your new life."
"I'm never gonna do that..."
Shaking his head, the man lowered his hand. "You really are stubborn, you know that? All I need to know is what you know about Akane Tenso."
"What so special about her anyway?"
"She is our property and she thought that she could get away, especially when we had a substantial investment on her. That, my dear, is a big no-no."
"Well, what the heck am I supposed to tell you? I only met her for that one trip, jackass."
"Then why is it that she is looking for you?"
"Huh?"
"I have it on good authority that she was caught by an Imperial Major while looking for you. And then she escaped and then there was a group caught trying to break in." He raised an eyebrow. "If I didn't know any better, I think it was because you are something special..."
She couldn't answer that one, so the redhead settled for glaring at him.
"Hey, correct me if I'm wrong. But that's how it looks. And if you want all the pain and suffering to go away, all that you have to do is to tell me what I want, and you won't have a care in the world."
Her answer was to look away from him, while one of his stooges answered a call on his commuinicator.
"Be that way. I'll find out eventually. And when I do, you won't care even if you knew..." the interregator commented, before being interrupted by the henchman who'd had the call. "What is it?"
"We have a problem," the lackey said, and then proceeded to whisper for a few moments into his boss' ear.
"How in the Hell did that happen?"
"I don't know. I just got a call."
"Damn, we'll have to take care of this later. We have other things to do."
"What about the girl?"
"Leave her here. She isn't going anywhere." The trio went to leave while:
