Corridors and corridors with recessed grill walkways over trenches, dim and often fitful white lighting that left deep shadows everywhere, a slight chill and fog creeping around - bits of vapor from the various containment vessels and the pipes connecting them.
Oh, and there were the containers. Something like large metal coffins with a single glass viewing port, a name stencilled on the lid that was bolted in place, a low sinister hum blending together from all of the "coffins."
Ranma could not possibly be scared. Heavens no. Cautious maybe. Yes, cautious would work.
There were also computer displays and keyboards located every few dozen of the "coffins" apart. The displays sent their own contribution of odd green lighting to the whole thing.
No not spooky at all.
Looking in the one viewport, Ranma determined that the contents were as advertised. Cutey Honey Kisaragi.
Wasn't it a tenet of Anything Goes that you used whatever advantage you could? Wasn't going up against an evil (or at least perverted) overlord the sort of thing that Cutey Honey normally did? Wouldn't it be nice to have another pair of eyes around here, maybe someone who knew how to use these computers better? Having rationalized it to himself, Ranma read off the number over Honey's name and inputted it into the computer.

The coffin clicked and hissed as steam began pouring out and the lid slowly raised.
Eyes several shades lighter than his own blinked open and focussed on Ranma.
Ranma missed the next line on the screen.
Imprinting complete.
Cutey Honey remembered.
She remembered beating Panther Zora.
She remembered a hard won success.
She remembered being alone and loveless - she who had been born from a love of humanity and the duty to save it.
"You're Ranma Saotome!" Cutey Honey exclaimed. "I read your manga. Well, the first volume or so."
"Ya did?!" the utter hunk said in a manner that suggested he was confused.
"Yes, but you seemed to be braindead or mentally retarded and watching people slap around a cripple just didn't appeal to me," said Honey apologetically. She now could see that she had missed out on a lot. He was much better looking than in the manga.
Ranma nodded. Made sense. If she was in a comic book in his world, why wouldn't he be in a comic book in her world? Hmmm. Maybe he should get ahold of some of those, his life might make more sense that way.
