Actually he was something of a humanophile in that regard.
He was quite intelligent, even if he couldn't speak the language - though having heard of a talking Meowth he wondered if it might indeed be possible.
He typified this specimen as an immature female of the species in emotional distress. Perhaps it was time to present himself and see if this could work out as a human partner?
Eyeing the girl who had just thwacked him in the head with a stick, he decided that this relationship was off to a rocky start. Well, at least she wasn't crying.
