It wasn't what Akane expected. When she came to the hospital and saw her sister, she half expected to be overwhelmed by a sudden urge to walk over and kiss her fully on the mouth. But it wasn't like that at all.
There was new appreciation of Nabiki's physical form, but she felt most of that was in relation to wondering how she matched with Ranma in bed.
Nabiki, looking a bit fed up with the doctors around her, nodded with a knowing smirk as she saw Akane and Ranma come in. Akane rolled her eyes and waved back.
"Anything?" Akane asked, coming up beside her eldest sister as Ranma walked over to a wall and leaned against it where he could watch Nabiki and Akane both.
Kasumi glanced toward Akane, and looked closer toward her and Ranma before answering. The younger sister was immensely aware suddenly that her bra was a bit askew under her school uniform, and hoped Kasumi hadn't.
"It's something genetic," Kasumi said. "I have it, you probably do too, but father doesn't so it must have come from mother."
"So, why don't we start changing?" Akane asked tentatively.
Kasumi looked pointedly at Akane, enough so that Akane started to get nervous.
"They think it was activated with exposure to something," Kasumi said. "So when we get exposed to the same thing, we'll start changing. She'll stop changing when all the cells have that gene active."
Akane looked to Kasumi and then opened her mouth to say something.
"Ssh, not now," Kasumi said. "And fix your bra before Father sees you."
Akane wondered just why that would matter. Their father wanted her to get together with Ranma, but she fixed her bra anyway.
