So, what he hoped for was a group of people who might have a better idea of what it would take to free everyone from the machines, and stop the ships from what they were doing. Since that would take someone who actually understood computers and that sort of thing, he figured that a little help in that area would be best. Besides, he wasn't sure that he understood much of what he was doing in the first place. No matter if it was some sort of secret government team dedicated to fighting global menaces, or an alien force determined to prevent more worlds from becoming machine 'parts', he wanted them there.
What he got was... actually really familiar.
As the image came up clear and focused, he had the distinct sensation that it wasn't set up right, since he only saw blurs on a crisp background. But as he watched, he began to realize that the movement came in understandable patterns, and soon he was able to anticipate where they would be. That allowed him to be ready for when he could get a clear look at them, and when he did, he was able to identify what they were.
"Ninja. Okay, they're ninja," he murmured to himself, idly recognizing that such individuals would be able to move quickly and keep well hidden.
Seeing as they were martial artists, he didn't know how much help they would be. Hopefully, one of them would be some sort of genius in technology, given that he knew nothing really useful about Earth computers, never mind alien mind reading ones. He didn't really hold out much hope for that, given that he wasn't seeing any sign that they were looking to move in that sort of direction.
