Dragon Wives: Evolution [Episode 204624]

by Proteus

“Okay then, let’s get to work,” Jane mumbled before she linked her aura with Six’s and brought forth their mymior, the phantom ring that contained the more powerful spells Jane and Six had acquired during their stints as dragons. The data inside it had increased greatly as of late thanks to their improvement in species. Using the dragon spell book, the two girls opened up a pocket in subspace and brought out their enigma from its hiding place.

Ranma blinked at the lightshow, and the looked at the weird statue that came out of the hole in the air. The last time he had seen it was when the two girl’s tried to cure his curse. That brought a rather worrisome thought to mind. “Uh, how is this going to effect my curse?”

“You’ll still change genders, but since you were already human when you got infected with the magic the species changing magic of the pool didn’t take,” Six explained without drawing her attention away from the golden statue that looked as if were made by a sculptor who was way too into cubism.

After they closed the hole in the space time continuum, Jane looked over to her husband. “So, what do you want?”

Five minutes later, after Ranma got through explaining what he wanted to be, both of his wives looked at him like his IQ had dropped by several dozen points.

Under their looks, Ranma blinked. “What?”

“Sire… those are video games, not real life, the enigma can’t do that.”

“Well it isn’t exactly like I have much experience with stuff that changes into something else,” Ranma replied. Except that he changed into a girl almost every day. “Or… another species anyway.” Except for Shampoo, Ryoga, Mousse… “Okay, never mind. So how does this thing work?”

Jane rolled her eyes and looked away from the ancient artifact and over to her husband. Ironically, if her first husband had never been trapped in his human form, she probably wouldn’t have been able to figure out as much as she did. “It alters the DNA and aura of any creature exposed to it to change it into something else.” At least that’s what she could gather after watching a few shows on the science channel. One of the big secrets of the universe about dragons was that although they were masters of magic, they had no idea as to the HOW it worked. “While we can combine the genetics of certain species, like Six and I are 90% Platinum dragon and 10% Iron, we cannot simply make a new one up out of the blue.”

“Platinum and Iron?” Ranma asked.

After a quick glance between the two, Six took this explanation. “The Platinum species of dragons has the greatest magic knowledge and flight capabilities. Iron is the biggest and is physically the most dominant. We took the best of the physical and added it to the magical to get the best we could. We‘re not as strong as a true Iron dragon, but our magic is easily equal to that of the Platinum’s queen.” Of course that was because they used the enigma to age themselves thousands of years so the instinctual knowledge of draconic magic was fully available to them, but they left that unsaid.

“Of course T’mat could still kick the crap out of one of us,” Jane added. The old bat had been around since before humans walked upright, and had God knows how many mystical artifacts and living spells in her treasure hold. While their age brought the knowledge of how to work magic, magend creation was more of a thing dragons had to figure out for themselves instead of knowledge that was realized in time.

Ranma thought about everything he was told for a moment, and really considered this. The thought of being a girl dragon brought rather disturbing images of him laying eggs for a brief fraction of a second, but he quickly threw that to the back of his mind. As he started thinking about all the powers and junk he’d get, Ranma’s mind wandered off and he ended up remembering when Akane got that super soba, and the Ryoga with his Mark of God, and Akane again with her stupid battle dogi, and all the other crap that everyone else seem to just stumble into that gave them more power than Ranma ever had.

Well now it was his turn damn it!

“I want to be strong, and… and tough. But, I want wings, not those jet things you guys have.”

“Hey, what’s wrong with our ether wings?” Six whined. With those they could achieve escape velocity and fly around the world faster than ant human aircraft. They may not look like traditional wings, but no dragon flew under the power of their wings. It was all magic, nothing that big could fly with just wind power.

Jane rolled her eyes at Ranma’s desire to be the stereotypical dragon. “Fine, we’ll make you into an Iron.” It wasn’t like she and Six was going to make him their equal or anything, just a little higher up on the food chain than bugs and humans. “Just stand still.”

As she and Six carefully wrapped Ranma in the transformation magic and started to program the enigma to change his species into one of the most powerful race ever created. Halfway though, a thought occurred to her. “Hey Six. I just got an idea.”

“Yeah?” she replied in draconic. If Jane was using the language then she obvious didn’t want Ranma to understand what was going on.

Jane changed the model of the DNA that they were going to alter Ranma’s to, and smirked. “I think we were going about this whole curse cure thing the wrong way. What do you think of that?”

“Rakshasa? Oh I get it! They can change their genders and physical forms at will. That’s genius!” the other dragon exclaimed. A 2% alteration to Ranma’s physical blueprint wouldn’t decrease the power his Iron form at all, and according to the enigma’s projections increase his transformation powers a little. Although since his aura would still be that of an Iron dragon, Ranma wouldn’t need to feed like the shape shifting species did.

The two transformed dragons finished their alterations and put the magic to work. As soon as the spell had finished settling on him, Jane put their treasure back in its hold and cast a flying spell on herself and Six. “We’d better get back.”

As soon as the transformation began Ranma felt a sever migraine explode in his head. It was like someone was pouring the knowledge of the universe into his skull and didn’t care that there wasn’t enough room for it all to fit. All of a sudden, things that he had never understood before became apparent as day, and what was happening dawned on him. Magic, I know magic!

He fell forward on his hands and watched them become gray claws that tore into the earth while layers of muscle expanded in his arms. His legs followed suit, with another clawed toe breaking out of his heel while his feet reformed themselves into something more reptilian. The bones of Ranma’s shoulder blades ripped from his back and changed to become wings while a tail erupted out the back of his spine. His jaw realigned itself, teeth rearranged to become larger and sharper, eyes became more narrow and serpentine. All the while skin was shed to make place for his new outer layer, and his body doubled, tripled, and quadrupled in size with every tick of the clock.

When everything had stopped, Ranma panted heavily and opened his eyes. Something’s different. Well, other than his wings, claws, and tail that is. It took a second to figure it out, everything was brighter. He could see in the dark like it was the middle of the day. Ranma felt like rolling his eyes. When he had asked to be transformed, he hadn’t asked to know what other abilities he would get besides raw physical power.

Like magic.

Ranma lifted his head up and looked around for Six and Jane, and quickly found them floating in the air just a few centimeters-or was that meters? The change in size might have altered his perception, but didn’t change units of measurements- in front of his face.

They’re so small he thought. Where before the two seemingly American women actually topped Ranma’s male form by several inches, and towered over his girl body, they looked around the size of insects now; about equal to a dragonfly.

“Mmmmm he’s a big one,” Six said as she looked her new husband up and down. Although a lowly Iron, he was certainly…beefy. She wondered if Ranma would like to test out his new body with a little… playtime. It had been a very long while since she had gotten any.

Jane rolled her eyes and looked down at Ranma’s Iron dragon form. It was big and muscular, just as he wanted; about 20% larger than her or Six’s bodies actually, about equal to a modest sized home. His aura was the same, complete success in the transformation. In every single way, Ranma WAS a dragon. But his age was now around 10,000 years old instead of 16. Jane wanted a fully matured husband, not some little baby of a hatchling.

Although they might have been small in comparison, Ranma had no trouble hearing Six’s comment. He didn’t know if blushes showed up on dragons, but Ranma was sure his face would be bright red if he had been a human. Acting on instinct, he slowly backed away from Six.

“Sire wait!”

It was the lack of ground, not Jane’s shout that stopped Ranma’s retreat from Six’s lustful gaze. "What?" Damn, is that my voice?

Jane sighed as she noticed it was too late. “Husband, while that rocky ledge near the waterfall you’re on may have been enough to hold you up while you weighed under 300 pounds, you now weigh several tons.”

As Ranma tried to change the measurements Jane gave him into metric, he felt the ground give out beneath him and sighed. Why couldn’t they just say I was too heavy? Ranma wondered as he fell into the small pond below.
