As she was carried over the rooftops of Nerima, Hotaru sighed and turned her gaze up to her new husband. Who would have thought that a non-Senshi could jump around like this. She had problems roof hopping AS a Senshi. She was married to the perfect boy! A shiver of delight went down her spine as she recalled exactly how she had ended up in this situation.
She had come to Nerima alone to buy Haruka-papa a birthday present. Michiru-mama had promised to keep Haruka-papa distracted for the the day so that she could get out of the house to shop. Unfortunately, Setsuna-mama wasn't around, so she went alone. She had chosen Nerima as it was known for its martial arts battles. Since Haruka-papa loved to fight too, Hotaru was sure she could find the perfect gift there.
She had only been off the train for a few moments when she noticed the bright pink light coming at her. She had tried to get out of the way, but when the light started following her, she knew she had no chance to escape. She simply closed her eyes and cringed. It was only moments later that she felt strong arms and warmth wrap around her. When she opened her eyes, she knew on an instinctive level that she was saved by her One True Love.
It was a whirlwind of emotions that played through both of them for the rest of that day, ending with a wedding that sealed their love for each other. It was SO romantic! She just knew that Usagi would love the story.
Hotaru brought herself out of her memories as they landed on one roof and stopped running. The panda walked over to the edge, holding a sign.

As the panda jumped off the roof, Ranma sighed and place Hotaru on her feet. "So...uh...g'morning?" Ranma said as he turned his gaze to his...wife.
Reaching up, Hotaru put her hands on Ranma's shoulders and pulled him down to where she could give him a quick peck on the lips. Blushing madly afterwards, she ducked her head and leaned into his chest, muttering "Good morning."
Ranma, meanwhile, had to deal with a sudden paranoia attack as his head whipped around, trying to find the incoming blunt objects that always came his way in the past when a girl kissed him. Not seeing any, however, caused him to relax for a moment and think on the difference that being married meant. Apparently, it meant that a cute girl could kiss him and he wouldn't get pounded for it. It was a nice change, all in all.
"So, um...uh..." Ranma blinked as he realized he could remember his wife's name. He knew she told him at least once yesterday, but he was always bad at names! Uh-oh, she was looking at him. He had to say something. "Dear," His mother called his pop that, so it would work for now, "where were your parents yesterday?" And why didn't they stop this, he thought to himself.
Hotaru raised her head and gave a big grin. "Haruka-papa's birthday is coming up, so Michiru-mama said she would distract her so I could buy a birthday present. They're going to be so surprised!"
Ranma nodded his head. "Yeah, surprised. You got that right."
Hotaru gave Ranma a quizzical look, but before she could say anything, a bald, fat man jumped onto the roof.
"Ranma, time to....who's that?" he asked, pointing at Hotaru.
Genma had quickly found the hot water that he needed. It helped that he had stopped right over a small coffee shop. It also helped that they were still in Nerima, so the owner wasn't surprised by the panda asking for hot water. Getting back to the roof, however, he finally noticed that his son was with a girl.
Genma ignored the flat look that Ranma gave him. "This is my wife Pops."
The bald man blinked and shuddered as memories of his son's marriage came right before his own. His squished the rest of those thoughts fast, however. "You're wife, boy?" Well, that didn't really matter. There was no way Genma was gonna go through with 'Joining the schools' now. No way in hell.
Still...this gave him an idea. One that would get his boy out of his hair for awhile, maybe throw off Tendo, and allow him some time to feel like a man again. "Tell me, how are you going to take care of her?"
Ranma stared at his father in surprise. This was not what he was expecting at all. "But what about..."
Genma interrupted Ranma before he could finish. "Forget about the Tendo's. Your first responsibility is to your family, not to my old partner." Genma winced and again squished the memories. "How are you going to support your wife? Where are you going to live? How will you put food on the table?" Genma approached Ranma and got right in his face. "Well, boy? Did you think you would live with your parents all your life?"
"NO!"
Genma stepped back and nodded. "Good. Consider this your final test, than, to become a man among men. Go out, find a way to support your family, find your own home, and once you do, return with your wife to visit your mother and I. We will be waiting for you at home. Do not return until you can support your family."
With that said, Genma turned, and raced off, heading for his wife. He really, REALLY needed to assert his manhood. And it was time to remind Nodoka exactly why she married him.
