And now that terrifyingly long, long day was over at last, the sun was setting and the stars were coming out, Tsukino Usagi and her friends were saying goodbye to the Starlights and their Princess, and -
And...
Meiou Setsuna sighed, looking up at the twinkling stars. The newly de-Chaos'd and now squeaky-clean Galaxia had her work cut out for her - only the Multiverse knew just how long she was going to be going around 'fixing' all the Star Systems she'd gutted when under the influence of that terrifyingly large chunk of Chaos, after all.
And that, in and of itself, was going to cause...
.......Even more complications.
Har, har, har.
Meiou Setsuna sighed, answering absentmindedly as her fellow Outers watched the Starlights go home and talked about wishes.
Well, come on now, Sailor Pluto...the Earth wasn't dead, and neither were they.
That was good...right?
...Right?
And that was when Haruka caught sight of something twinkling right over their car.
"...Huh? What's a Starseed doing here?"
Setsuna blinked. What?
And indeed, it was a Starseed, it's aura a smoky purple and blue. It wasn't one of the really bright ones, but...
"...Hmmm." Michiru murmured, craning her neck. "Since it didn't go with Galaxia, it's probably a Solar System Starseed to begin with, but..."
"Let me see that." Setsuna muttered, wrenching her mind back to the here and now. As far as she knew, Galaxia - well, the Chaos-infested version of her, anyhow - had just started 'strip mining' everything in the area in the end, gathering up the few Starseeds that stayed bright and just leaving the rest. The ones that went black should have been cleansed and refreshed with that big burst of energy, and safely back in their bodies for this incarnation, so -
"It's nice and shiny, but - " Haruka muttered. "We really were a bit busy at the time and I might be misremembering stuff, but didn't the Starlights say that Galaxia said that only the Starseed of Senshi keep on shining outside their bodies, or something like that? But all of us are here already, as far as I know, so..."
"Hmmm." Michiru murmured. "Perhaps she was including - well, you know, the 'Senshi's Helper' type when she said that? Or maybe...how do I say this...people who could have been Senshi but...hadn't 'awakened' yet?"
"'Senshi's Helper' - Oh, like - those twin girls that used to follow Mars about, way back in old Silver Millennium times? I think it was Mars, but..."
Haruka looked at the Starseed again, and then back at Michiru.
"Well, I was thinking more of the Mooncats, but - "
"Oh, alright, that makes sense too. - Hey. So maybe that was why the Animates kept on attacking people who weren't Senshi even when the Senshi where right there - they wanted to get at the easy targets first."
"I think that might have had more to do with the Animates not wanting to risk interfering with any of Galaxia's games, frankly." Setsuna said, sighing. Boy oh boy, had Chaos-infested Galaxia liked to...'play'...with her toys...
Setsuna looked up at the smoky purple and blue Starseed and sighed yet again.
"Well, alright, if anybody has any idea what to do about this..."
And that was when Setsuna realized that Hotaru hadn't said a word for quite a long while, all things considering. And just why was she making those - choking sounds?
Haruka and Michiru had noticed something was strange, too, from the way they were both craning their necks to look at their foster-daughter and little sister substitute.
Hotaru had both her hands bunched over her mouth, her eyes frozen on the little sparkling Starseed. Which twinkled back at her. Sadly.
Though as for how a Starseed could twinkle sadly...
"...Pa...Pa...Papa!!????"
