Lamp Of Mihoshi/House Of El: Dark Horse, Light Mood [Episode 205498]

by Kestral

Genma sighed and sat back as his son trained in the martial arts.

He had spoken to Jor-El, while Nodoka had spoken with Lara. The arrangement was to raise their child as if born a Saotome.

Of course, it turned out that Nodoka had some ideas of her own about arrangements and had made more arrangements.

Genma was just glad that they'd thrown that old crystal out here in the South Pacific. Just a random little spot out in the middle of nowhere.

With his hammock suspended between two pillar-shapes of the new island, Genma used a minor martial arts technique to ram a straw through a coconut so he could sip on that while supervising his son's training.

Ah, the life of a martial artist is filled with suffering.

The island was still growing, and the crystalline Fortress Of Solitude (which Genma understood was actually a modified copy of a honeymoon retreat that Jor-el's father Yar-el had constructed) was becoming harder to see as forest grew out at an accelerated rate.

There were a few security protocols in place, supposedly it required Ranma (Kal-el being his Kryptonian name) to be able to FIND the island. Eventually the island would stop growing, settle its ecosystem down, and be able to support more people. Which figured into the plans of both Nodoka and the now-deceased Lara.

Genma actually felt a bit sad about that. Jor-el had been a scientist and philosopher. He and his brother Zor-el had foreseen the disaster coming, but been unable to override the Council when that Council had done something incredibly DUMB.

Which had been to throw something called the Phantom Zone into the core of their planet, ignoring the scientists telling them that something very BAD would happen.

So they were left with recordings that Lara and Jor-el had left behind. Something like an answering machine message, though a bit more detailed than that.

In the Fortress was as much of Krypton's information as they could send. Krypton's history and art, the technological achievements and philosophical works, their shames and their prides. All awaiting Ranma when he got older.

Behind him, the little two year old giggled as Nodoka interrupted the martial arts training. Which brought a momentary frown, then a shrug, from Genma.
