Crimson Nights: Over-inflated Ego Meet Gravity [Episode 206003]

by The Insane Hiker

Unfortunately before Akane could ask Ranma about her family, and maybe find out some information to kibosh any wedding schemes of her fathers, an old headache opted to make its appearance. “Akane Tendo how dare you use your western sorcery to strike down my noble vestige, and tread upon my person like a mat of used tatami, the heavens shall not forgive you and neither shall I.” The star of the Furinkan kendo team yelled from the door-way thrusting his boken forward to press his point.

Kuso, Akane swore inside her head, as she dashed out the backdoor of her classroom, knowing that someone like Kuno was not above attack her in the middle of a crowded room once he got caught up in the middle of his internal drama.

Akane dashed down the hallway and away from her annoyingly persistent pursuer. Although running certainly was not her strong-suit; Akane’s practiced agility born from necessary lessons in survival (against any lunes who made it past the snare-pole) allowed her to easily dodge the formulaic slashes of an opponent whose fighting style was designed for direct frontal assault, and take the corners with ease.

Still if there was one thing that Tatewaki Kuno was it was persistent, and added onto that problem was the fact that his body was accustomed to recovering from a large amount of punishment. So although Kuno might have failed to overtake Akane or strike her with his bokuto; the youngest of the Tendo sisters had still yet to shake off his pursuit by the fifth lap around the third floor corridors. Fortunately while making a corner approaching the rear corridor she spotted part of a possible solution to her dilemma.

Okay that window could come in handy, she thought to herself, but it’s a little risky by itself I need something else… wait that will do.

“Hey Kuno,” Akane shouted at her pursuer, “this is no place for a fight and you know it.”

“Silence thy tongue you unfeminine abomination,” the kendoist spit back in a venomous reply, “my valiant efforts to cleanse this noble institution of your ilk shall never cease…”

That boy is too good for what I was about to do to him, the MLA junior officer thought, I think he deserves a little extra for that remark, but I shouldn’t risk it.

“I meant let’s take this outside you twit.” Akane replied as she poured on the speed and disappeared around the corner.

As his quarry speed up the noble Tatewaki Kuno, rising star of the kendo world that was respected and admired by all, did his best to catch up when he briefly stumble on his hakama. Drat that witch’s treachery, he would not rest until she was truly punished for her misdeeds, by his mighty blade.

Strange enough eventually he stopped hearing the sounds of her running echoing down the halls not long after he lost sight of her. More of the witches tricks and lies, I know that I would have heard her run down the stairs, and none of the loyal students of this institution would dare aide that abomination in hiding from my righteous justice.

“Akane Tendo,” shouted the irate kendo captain as he wandered down the hallway looking for his wayward quarry, “I demand that you cease this childish game, and come out to receive what you truly have coming to you.”

Just then Kuno noticed two items very out of the ordinary: an open window, and a girl’s indoor shoe. “Ah so you think that you can escape my wrath by fleeing the building,” the ‘noble scion’ of the house of Kuno again ranted, “but follow I shall.” So without a moment’s thought leapt out the window only to realize too late that: Akane was no longer in sight, and also that the window he had just leapt from was on the third floor. “AGGGGGH” *SPLASH* fortunately the school’s pool was full and there to break his fall; however given that the fall was at least 21 meters it was enough to knock him out cold.

As soon as Kuno hit the water everyone from Akane’s class who had been watching the chase from their classroom’s hall windows poured into the hallway, the only question on their minds just where was Akane? Soon they all flowed towards the window that Kuno jumped out of to see him floating face-up in the pool, and discovered that Akane...
