Here though, she could see for miles on a clear day, and loved the look of it as the water sparkled under the sunlight. It did instill a good bit of fear in those travelling on it, as they knew that help wasn't always going to be that close, but, for the strong ones, that led to respect for those liquid depths. In her case, she just thought it looked lovely, and was rather pleased to get to see it again.
On the other hand though, she did have to admit that it was nice to see the sliver of land in the distance. She had confidence in the ship's crew, but the fact of the matter was that there was a special place in her heart for that ground. Not only did she like how it looked as she saw it 'grow' as they got closer, but it was also the place where she had gained true friends, and met the love of her life.
Somehow, being there just fit her, and she didn't mind returning to the place, even if it hadn't been such a matter of importance. In fact, she didn't think that it would be right if she didn't stop in and visit her friends at the Tendo Dojo. Besides being a place where she could rest and have good food, it was also somewhere that she could meet up with the ever kind Kasumi, the crafty Nabiki, and Akane, a fellow warrior. Just getting to see them again would be enough, and she was sure that they would want to help her in her quest.
After all, they were likely to keep Ranma there until they could get word to her for her to come join him.
Sighing to herself, she wondered if the eldest Tendo would let her help out in the kitchen when she stopped by.
"You know, you can walk with us," Akane complained, and glared up at the fence next to her.
Ranma just smirked down at his friend. "What? Don'tcha think that I've shown that I can walk the whole way there like this?"
"It's not that, stupid. I know that you can go the whole way there on top of things. My problem is that while you're showing off, it's embarrassing for us!"
"Speak for yourself, Akane," her sister drawled.
"You know what I mean. It's like he doesn't want to walk with us!"
"This is how I always go. Pop kinda got me started, kinda like a trainin' exercise, ya know," the pigtailed boy admitted, leaping down to the girls.
"Well, I suppose that I can understand that."
"Besides, it ain't like the two of ya are my fiancees or girlfriends...."
"Not quite, Saotome," Nabiki put in.
"Huh?"
"We're girls, and we're your friends. So, we're 'girl friends'."
"Huh? Eh? Umm... that sounds...."
"Yes?"
He looked like he was going to continue babbling, but a sour look quickly came onto his face. "Ya like makin' me look like an idiot, don'tcha?"
"It has its moments."
Patting his shoulder, Akane gave him a look of sympathy, while:
