It was a special day for the students of Furinkan High School because today they got to go and visit the nearby museum. While most of the students were happy to not have a regular day of class, Ranma Saotome was just glad to have the chance to live a peaceful day. In his desire to have some peace and quiet Ranma had slowly distanced himself from the main group of students and had ducked down one of the museum’s side wings.
By complete chance the wing that Ranma was now walking through was none other then the Ancient Egyptian exhibit. Normally Ranma wouldn’t give a bunch of musty old relics, especially relics that weren’t magical or related to martial arts in any way, a second glance. After all, why should he bother with some ancient dead guy’s stuff when it had no connection to his life? However, since Ranma had come in here for some well deserved peace and quiet he decided that he would look at the various objects that he came across on his walk.
Going over the various artifacts one by one, Ranma paused for a bit and carefully examined one object in particular. According to the info sheet outside the item’s case Ranma was looking at a canopic jar. This canopic jar was apparently an oddity because it had the head of a fox carved on it instead of a jackal like the archeologists who had discovered it were expecting. While looking at the jar Ranma shrugged his shoulders and said, “So ya weren’t what these brainy types were expecting. I can understand that, as I am in the same boat; I’m never what most people expect me to be either and they have their own ideas about how I should act.
Above and slightly behind Ranma’s head the ceiling light started to buckle. It had been improperly installed and was set to fall at any moment. Just as Ranma was giving his utmost attention to the canopic jar the faulty ceiling light suddenly broke loose and hit Ranma in the back. Due to the force of the impact, Ranma was pushed into the display case and cause the canopic jar to fall to the ground. Upon hitting the ground the jar shattered releasing the imprisoned Goa’uld that had been inside it.
The Goa’uld symbiote hissed once and started to look around its surroundings. It quickly spotted Ranma’s stunned form and made its move. Quickly winding its way up Ranma’s leg and then across his back the Goa’uld reached Ranma’s exposed neck. After giving a celebratory hiss, the alien buried itself into Ranma neck. A minute later the blending was complete and Inari opened his new host’s eyes with a glow.
