Seeing the boy wave as he hurried towards Nabiki was a bit of a let down in that regard.
"Heya, 'Biki," Ranma called out. "Been waitin' for long."
"Depends on how you define 'long', Master. Considering the fact that you left me here for all this time," Nabiki drawled as she came to stand up in front of her teenaged Owner.
"A-heh. There's that."
"Still, if we're just talking about right now, it wasn't all that long...."
"Sorry...."
Genma walked over to his son and snorted. "Stupid boy! Don't you have any pride left in that head of yours?"
"Sure, I got plenty of pride, Pops."
"Then why are you grovelling to her? Especially when she's supposed to be your slave."
"Nothin' says that I can't be nice, old man. Unless I'm talkin' ta ya," the pigtailed boy commented, smirking just a bit.
"Yes, that's... HEY!"
"He's got you there," the slavegirl murmured. "You did teach him to stand up to any offense, and you do have to admit that you can be pretty offensive."
With one eye twitching, Genma wondered how he'd raised such a pair of disrespectful children. It wasn't what he'd set out to do, and to have such a deviation from his plans was really strange. He supposed that it had to do with them being together as they had been, but after all this time, there was little that he could do about it.
"You two are so foolish. I don't know where you'd be if you weren't under my full care and supervision."
"Probably living stable lives, and actually building some real futures," Nabiki put in.
"Stop that!"
"It's just a suggestion."
"You two are so headstrong that it's good that you both have me to guide you onto the proper path."
His son blinked over at him. "Since when, Pop."
"'Since' always! And I'll have you know that you both are the ones dragging us down right now!"
"How d'ya figure on that one?"
"Simple, Ranma. We have a journey ahead of us, and you're just hanging around here."
"Really?" Nabiki said, raising a brow as she did so. "This is the first that I've heard of it."
"Where is that ya think we're goin' now, Pop?" Ranma asked.
Crossing his arms over his chest, Genma looked between both teens before taking an exaggerated sniff. "If you must know, we're actually heading out to:
