"It can't be!" Ami protested.
Upon seeing the large dinosaur (about ten meters long and four high, not that anyone had time to measure it), Usagi did what she normally did when confronted with a monster. "Ahhh! Run for your lives!" Usagi screamed as she followed her own advice. Ami, Minako, Makoto, Hotaru, Genma, Soun, Nabiki, Ukyou, and Konatsu all followed her lead. Rei pulled out a ofuda and tossed it at the dinosaur, before joining the others. The Tyrannosaur ignored the ofuda.
Makoto said to Ami as they ran, "Well, we are in the distant past. Why shouldn't we run into a T-Rex?"
Haruka stepped forward towards the dino, but Micheru put her hand on Haruka's shoulder and shook her head. "We can't fight it like this," she reminded Haruka. Haruka nodded, and the two joined the retreat, intending to find a spot in the woods to transform.
"That's not what I meant," Ami said to Makoto as they passed into the woods. "Tyrannosaurus Rex was only found in North America. That's probably one of the Asian types of Tyrannosauroid... Perhaps it's a Tarbosaurus or Alectrosaurus? Though Alectrosaurus aren't supposed to have grown that big..." Not having heard Pluto's admission that she didn't know where they were, and knowing that parts of Japan were part of eastern Asia during the Cretaceous, Ami assumed they were in eastern Asia. "...Not that I know much about dinosaurs," she added. The girls running alongside her would have given her strange looks if they hadn't been too busy looking where they were going.
Sailor Pluto, Kasumi, and Cologne had stepped out of the way of the stampede. Happosai had followed the fleeing girls, as that was where most of panties were. Mouse wasn't wearing his glasses, and currently had a tree chained up. Shampoo was following the baby dino, intent on protecting it from the Tyrannosaur.
Kodachi just stood there admiring the Tyrannosaur. "I want one," she whispered in awe.
Akane and Ryouga weren't about to run away, even from a prehistoric predator several times their size. They both assumed battle stances between the beast and the fleeing girls and girly-men. Ranma might have done the sensible thing if he didn't have an audience, or if Akane weren't putting herself in danger, but as it was, he joined Akane and Ryoga. Tatewaki started to run away, but stopped when he realized Akane was in danger, and quickly joined those about to fight.
Of course none of them counted on the size of the Tyrannosaur's mouth, or how quick it moved. The Tyrannosaur decided to go after one of these non-moving targets, and snapped at the nearest one, who happened to be Akane. Akane pulled back her fist, and Ranma, Ryoga, and Kuno prepared to leap to her rescue. Time seemed to slow as the dinosaur's mouth came closer to Akane, and all three realized they wouldn't be able to act in time.
Then something passed in front of the dino's nose, leaving a cut behind. The object embedded itself in the ground even as the Tyrannosaur stepped back. Akane glanced at the object, and realized it was a red rose. "Kuno?" she wondered.
"Yes, my love?" Tatewaki replied; but he was on the wrong side of her for him to have thrown the rose; she turned and saw the man in the tuxedo standing there.
"Whether from Youma or Dinosaur, I, Tuxedo Mask, stand ready to protect the innocent," Tuxedo Mask declared.
Akane had been genuinely thankful for a moment, but between the rose and his flowery speech, he reminded her too much of Kuno. She scowled and told him, "I could have handled it myself."
Hotaru didn't have as weak a constitution as she used to, but she was still smaller than the others. Lagging behind them, she thus realized the Tyrannosaurus hadn't followed them into the woods. Realizing she was alone, she shifted into Super Sailor Saturn, then headed back to the clearing to see if her help was required.
Back in the clearing, Ryouga was shocked to realize Akane could have just died. The thought that he hadn't been able to do anything to help her depressed him greatly. A dark aura began to form around him, and he turned to the Tyrannosaur. "Shi-shi..."
Meanwhile in the forest, the Inner-Senshi had tried to separate from the non-senshi so they could transform. However, Happosai had other ideas, and followed them, jumping from bossom to bossom.
"Ugh! What sort of freak is this?!"
"Pervert!"
"Hey, my bra!"
Rei began tossing ofudas at Happosai, but he laughed at her efforts as he easily dodged. Makoto tried to punch him, with similar results.
"We don't have time for this!" Rei growled in frustration.
Elsewhere in the forest, Haruka and Micheru had separated from the others. They pulled out their transformation pens. "Uranus Crystal Power Make-Up!" "Neptune Crystal Power Make-Up!" Transformed into Super Sailors Uranus and Neptune, they rushed back to the clearing.
