Setsuna was in a panic. Actually, saying that the Senshi of Pluto was panicking was a major understatement of her current condition. For the past few millennia, she had been observing different parallel timelines in order to learn more about what was possibly coming in the future. Oh, she knew about Metallia and that there would be other major adversaries in the future. However, the Senshi of Time wanted to explore the various possibilities in order to insure that her princess could make informed decisions. Unlike some of her counterparts from alternate dimensions, this Setsuna didn’t want tangle with another one of the good guys like, say Ranma Saotome because of one asinine reason or another.
Unfortunately for Setsuna’s nerves, things on Earth were not how she expected them to be. Both the Inners and the Outers had been reincarnated and were living out their typical lives in what Setsuna mentally referred to as “SM canon base”. However, the snag that had gotten her so upset was the fact that she couldn’t locate Usagi or Mamoru! She had searched high and low with the Time Gates, looking for those two trying to see if they were living in a different city or country. Hell, she had tried to find them using those western names that she had observed them under in a few timelines. And after all the effort she had put into locating the two of them, all she got was a goose egg.
Setsuna had realized by now that Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba did not exist in her timeline. This was, without a doubt, a MAJOR problem of epic proportions. Without Sailor Moon and, although it might not seem like it at first glance, Tuxedo Mask the Earth would almost certainly be destroyed. None of the other senshi, except for Saturn, could come close to having the power that Sailor Moon wielded and that she had used in other timelines to defeat the threats to the Earth. While Saturn might have the power to defeat most of the threats to the Earth, there was that nasty little side effect of her having to blow up the planet to do it.
Setsuna continued on and on, whining and bitching about the fact that Usagi and Mamoru didn’t exist for several minutes. This undignified complaining stopped when she was in the middle of ranting about Princess Serenity’s reincarnation not showing up when a thought crossed her mind. What if Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion had been reincarnated after all, the Senshi of Time wondered, only that instead of being reincarnated as Usagi and Mamoru they had been reborn as other people? It was possible since the other members of the Lunar Court had been successfully reincarnated and they were not primary objects of the spell.
That possibility filled Setsuna with hope and she rushed off to the Time Gates. Once she was at the Gates she said in a slightly desperate tone, “Show me Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion’s reincarnations.” As the Gates started to carry out the search Setsuna started to smile. Yes, everything was going just fine and as soon as she knew who the royal couple had been reborn as this show could get on the road. After a few minutes, the Time Gates had finished the search and showed that Endymion’s and Serenity’s new identities were:
