Great, just great Setsuna thought as she saw Jack O’Neil’s and Samantha Carter’s images appear on the Time Gates. Thanks to those sets of timelines where Hotaru was engaged to Ranma and the two were attached to the SGC Setsuna had become aware of “Stargate” multi-verse as she labeled it. Setsuna admired SG-1 and those two members in particular because of what she had seen them do to protect Earth in various timelines. However, the senshi of time would have preferred it if Endymion and Serenity had been reborn as a different pair of individuals.
Part of the reason why Setsuna would have preferred it if the princess and the prince were other people was politics. The US government was almost certainly going to be getting involved in Senshi business with two vital members of the solar senshi’s group being high ranking military officers. That led directly to the second major cause of Setsuna’s headache. An important amount of Sailor Moon’s power rested in the love between Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion. That love, according to US military regulations, was strictly forbidden.
Without Endymion’s, correction Jack’s, love Samantha Carter would seriously be behind the power curve compared to her Usagi counterparts. Hell, the Super Sailor Moon state wouldn’t have become available in those timelines that had a Usagi for over a century if it wasn’t for the couple’s love speeding up Sailor Moon’s power growth. Sure Carter would still pack a very powerful magical punch, provided the army major could be convinced to wear the Sailor Senshi uniform, but she wouldn’t have nearly the magical strength that Usagi had.
Still, Setsuna could see a silver lining that Sam and Jack brought to the Senshi. First and foremost was their military training which made them far more competent then most magical duos were. Carter’s amazing intelligence and her rational personality were another set of bonuses in Setsuna’s mind. No offence to those timelines with a Usagi & Mamoru pairing, but the Jack and Sam pairing seemed to have a greater potential for leadership and statesmanship.
