As the dust and flash cleared from the summoning spell, many of the students wondered just what sort of Familiar could be summoned by Louise the Zero (as in zero casting success rate, zero figure, etc..) The first thing noticed was the odd spines on its back and head colored jet black with a red stripe running the length of each of them. Next was it's almost human-like appearance, wearing nothing but white gloves and oddly shaped red shoes with gold trim. Finally one of the students who was rather taken with about all kinds animals made a connection about the creature's looks and called it aloud for all to hear and agree upon.
It was a humanoid hedgehog.
Now the rumor mill began in earnest over this development. Had Louise actually cast the spell right? Did she cheat somehow? How could someone else get one? So on and so forth did the questions fly as the third daughter of the Valliere family stepped toward her new Familiar just as it was starting to stir. Had anyone thought to look at Louise they would have noticed a small grin getting bigger as she approached.
'uhhh...wh-what's happening? Last thing I remember was falling toward Earth after Sonic and I defeated the Biolizard and...hold it. Shouldn't I have burned up in the atmosphere?'
The black hedgehog rolled onto his back and opened up his eyes just in time to see a young human girl with long strawberry blond hair finish muttering something in a language he couldn't understand, before she bent down and kissed him on the forehead.
A steamy heat then built up around him, nothing he hadn't dealt with before, and a slight sting in his right hand helped bring himself back to full lucidity. Jumping up to a standing position he faced the girl who kissed him just before.
"Who are you? What just happened to me?"
Louise puffed out her small chest with pride. "I am your Master, my Familiar, *I* summoned you here. My name is Louise de la Valliere. And you...um, what should I give you for a name anyway?"
The ultimate life-form snorted lightly. "I already have a name..." He trailed off the rude comment about anybody being *his* master as he got a better look at her, noticing she looked kinda like Maria to his eyes. Shaking his head to clear that awful memory, he took one long look around the courtyard before settling his eyes back on Louise.
'Hmph...A human trying to give me orders...still, in some way I suppose she DID save me from re-entry burn. I'll play along with this Familiar business for now.'
His red eyes focused on the former Zero. "My name is Shadow...Shadow the Hedgehog."
