On their way to school, Akane walked as a traditional woman would, several paces behind her man. She did it to remain a woman. Ranma was a water magnet. The odds weren't good on anticipating when his curse would attack. His martial arts training would come instantly into play. And Akane didn't want to be the first one in his sight as he threw his problem onto someone else. Her modesty couldn't stand it. He had already ruined one of her dresses, and the bodice of her uniform couldn't take the sudden weight gain!
Ranma, meanwhile, was contemplating his pop. But for the excitement of winning his first battles over his girl-curse, it should have seemed strange that his old man took becoming a young girl so calmly. Until he remembered, now, what had happened at Jusenkyo. No sooner had his old man become a panda for the first time, it was immediately back up on the pole, picking up where his attack had left off. The one who had freaked out was him in his new girl body. And he STAYED that way, the body chasing the stupid panda over the Bayankala Mountain Range. But the insufferable creature treated it like a game. It even skipped off to try to feast on boiled, little, black pig. And in the two weeks before arriving at the Tendos, his pop seemed to have grown even more comfortable as a giant, plush animal.
Despite his feelings about girls, his pop had even picked up where their relationship had left off. In the months since, he had gotten more used to Ranma being a girl. And with all the people changing around him, the Old Man could've even accepted the idea that he might, too, become a girl someday, like his son.
"He's ALWAYS lookin' to takin' the easy way. Lettin' something bother him takes energy." The pigtailed boy frowned at, "The only exception is him havin' to feel like he's beatin' me. And that's what would've happened if he showed how much he hates bein' a girl. Him not makes it a double win for him, 'cuz he also gets to be laid back. Man! He's never gonna let me win!"
Up ahead at the school gates, though, there was someone who Ranma could score a win over.
"Ranma Saotome-Blackguard!"
"Tatewaki Kuno," Ranma brightened. " "Girlfriend"."
