"Please tell me that this is a joke, Nabiki. If so, I am definitely not amused." The irritated female voice from the other end of the phone told the middle Tendo daughter that much about her friend's mood.
Nabiki was grinning ear to ear inside at her friend's tone. She understood the facts that had been given to her, but a heavy dislike at the news that had been given to her. Of course, she knew that her friend wouldn't hold it against her of course, since it wasn't her fault to begin with. But still,it was only natural that the woman would be very displeased at an attempt by her 'father-in-law' to marry her husband off to another girl, to one of her dear friends, no less! That would probably urge said woman to make her displeasure known to her 'father-in-law'.
The thought of Genma being beaten up bloody and bruised, with a lot of cuts on the side pleased Nabiki, since she never did like the Saotome patriach, based on the rumors she heard of the man. It really was heartwarming that in the Space Age, there were some things that remained the same, and one of them was the Righteous Female Fury.
"I am afraid that it's not a joke..." Nabiki said rather calmly. "It seems that Daddy is inviting his old friend and your dear husband for a marriage meeting with me and my dear sisters."
"One which will not change the facts that he is already bound to another." Her friend said in a neutral tone.
"Exactly... me and my sisters certainly do not want to take your husband away from you."
"I know... but the fact is that the person in question is a bit dense when these matters are concerned."
Nabiki quickly caught on to who this 'person' her friend was hinting at and said. "I suppose you are right. Luckily for you though, we intend to reject this arrangement. We like the jock alright, but we don't intend to break up the marriage of our dear friends. It would not be right."
"I thank you for your consideration... I wouldn't have forgiven you all if you weren't my friends. Still, it's water under the bridge now... anyway, I have something to take care of."
"Oh really? Would you like to clue me in on it?"
"Not this time, Nabiki... I have to go and have a long 'talk' with a certain someone. Bye." The woman said at the other end of the line before she put down the phone.
Nabiki put down the phone at her own end, and she idly wondered if Genma had actually wondered if he had sealed his own fate by angering her friend, which happens to be;
