Coupled Union - Hearts And Fists: Pride And Strength [Episode 209295]

by Kender

If there was a girl who was likely to want to beat on Genma Saotome, the girl born as Asuka Kazama was it. That wasn't to say that there was anything particularly odd about that fact, given the way that the elder Saotome male could come off... annoying females quite easily, but her friend's personality was driven towards wanting to pop him good. Seeing as she'd already done something as it was, one could see Genma's impending problems in that arena.

Not that anyone would be terribly surprised by her desire to hurt the big man. In fact, it almost be expected, as the young fighter's reputation attested to. For some, gossip was merely rumor and innuendo, but in this case, there was no little grain of truth to that.

Asuka really tended to get into fights without thinking, which, as Nabiki thought about it, was quite similar to her husband. Where others might have tried talking before acting, the short haired brunette was apparently unable to settle anything without using her fists. Actually, she tended to solve other people's problems by 'knockout'. Then again, the girl didn't do that for some sort of need to crush anyone, or for profit. This was someone who'd rush into saving a kitten, regardless of what might have been a danger for her in other cases.

Oddly enough, it was refreshing for the middle Tendo daughter to have to deal with the girl. Where others might have been a bit reserved, Asuka was unabashedly true to who she was. There was no attempt at pretending that she was something that she was not, and the fact was that the pretty girl was likely to be truthful about what she wanted.

Not that Nabiki was keen on angering her, even if they hadn't been friends. Seeing as the girl in question was a strong fighter who could blow up a boulder by punching another combatant into it, there was a clear indication that one didn't misjudge the girl. As it was, she was likely to be quite the heir to her father's dojo when the time came, given her experience in fighting and skill in the Art. Still, it was not like anyone could doubt that there was someone... worth watching in a young woman who could ride her bike from rooftop to rooftop... simply because it was 'fun'.

"Sounds like you're going to get your dear father in law's adrenaline pumping," Nabiki drawled as she lounged back.

*"I'll do more than that to him,"* Asuka growled, her heavy Kansai accent thick through her words. *"I didn't expect to find Ranma when I was on that trip, but now I'm not going to give him up. That big idiot better watch out, or then what you said will be the least of it."*

"Sure. Running in fear for one's life tends to do that to a person."

There was a chuckle on the other end of the line. *"Exactly. It's been a while since I've seen him anyway, and I figure that I should check out how good he's done."*

"Which means that you'll be needing to beat on Genma anyway."

*"Pretty much. Getting a good fight in is fun, but when there's a good reason for it.... Well, that's all the better."*\

"You and your husband...." sighed the Tendo girl.

*"And what's that supposed to mean?"*

"Nothing, nothing. Say, if we're going to be seeing you, does that mean that you'll be sparring with my little sister?"

*"Looking forward to it. I just hope that she's gotten stronger,"* Asuka answered, the grin apparent in her voice.

Nabiki snickered, admitting to herself that her little sister would be anticipating that as well, which meant that more fun was going to be coming their way, while:
