Ranma turned to get the floral robe from the fallen pole.
"Wha-the!" he cried, his index and little fingers of both hands went up in surprise. There before him were eight woman in plane kimonos beneath kappogi aprons, and scarves that hid all but the front of their faces.
"Mujina!!" Ryoga screamed, thinking them the faceless of horror stories. She jumped off the washstand, only to hide her face behind the towel, her modesty completely forgotten.
Ranma looked into the maids' openings. "They don't got no faces."
"Merely masks similar to nylons, my innocent, young guest, and Saotome."
"I see you're finished polishing your sword, Kuno." Ranma caught a short ninja hand retrieving a fallen tissue. A used one. ('Man, I don't think I want to know why.')
His noble dignity shielding him, he continued, "Handmaids, you know why you've been summoned."
They all bowed and silently did their duties. While four went to fetch Ryoga, two pushed aside the acrylic, cocktail bath as the last two replaced it with a chair that, because of previous, bitter experience, turned Ranma's stomach.
"What are you ladies going to do to me?!" the still naked Ryoga demanded as they practically carried him to the beauty salon chair.
"You informed me that you wish to learn the Ways of the Date. This is an essential step in any of worth participating in."
"Ranma...." she threatened.
"Trust me, Ryoga," Ranma stage whispered. "Think of revenge: Think of Kuno bein' made to do all the same junk! 'Member, I've been forced to do it all, too. We'll both enjoy the taste all the more when the jerk gets his."
"It's STILL not fair. Why I the only one who has to suffer the indignities of this "date"!?!"
"The young lady is quite correct," Kuno said. "Dating is not a one-sided arrangement. That has a more vulgar and vile name." As he had been speaking, men dressed and masked similarly, though in hakama pants, to the maids appeared. They were wheeling a barber chair.
