"This could be a problem," one of the senshi muttered as she watched the scenes that the Time Gates were showing. None of the other senshi bothered to respond, since they were shocked as well. In hindsight, something like this might have been expected. Ranma did, even if he didn't mean to, tend to cause plans to go completely crazy. Since these bird people were Ranma's decedents, it was entirely understandable that they would inherit certain aspects of their progenitor. They love the air, practiced martial arts, held to a code of honor, and could mess things up without intending to.
The currently messed up event that shocked the Senshi was none other than the first contact between the Sailor War refugees and one of the major flocks. In the Senshi's time line, the refugees had met with several major tribes of humans and had hammered out mutually beneficial deals. While the particulars varied from tribe to tribe, the core of the deals remained the same. The refugees provided some simple technologies for the tribes and altered weather patterns a bit to insure good hunting grounds. In return, the human tribes would allow the refugees access to the tribes' gene pools.
Rei looked on the first meeting between the refugees and the birdmen and started to rage. "How on Earth could those bird brains mistake a handwave as a sign of attack?" The quintet had just watched as Usagi's ancestor, who looked nerve shockingly like Sailor Moon, tried to greet the flock's guardsmen. For some unexplainable reason, at least to Rei, the guards had attacked the legendary Selene I.
Ami looked at the Mercury computer and was surprised to find an answer to Rei's question. "Apparently," the genius senshi muttered, "Shouting and waving your arms around is regarded as a challenge of war." Seeing the looks the rest of the senshi were giving her, Ami quickly said, "I'm just saying what the Mercury computer says. There's a small program that connects the computer to the Time Gates so that I'm provided with information on customs like that. It's something that was put in to avoid these sorts of circumstances."
Makoto then glanced back at the Time Gates and exclaimed, "Why are those guards striping Selene?" The rest of the senshi whipped their heads back towards the Time Gates to see what Makato was talking about. Sure enough, Selene and her companions were stripped bare and their arms were bound with rope. The now embarrassed and enraged sailor refugees were then led into the encampment by the guards.
