As Luna was escorted by one of the base personal she thought about the whole situation. How was she supposed to advise Samantha Carter about being Sailor Moon? If Sam was a teenager like those other scouts over in Japan that Artemis was looking after Luna could handle the situation without a sweat. An adult woman in the military was completely out of Luna’s experience with dealing. Luna was used to dealing with her charges as sort of a surrogate mother/favorite aunt. Even if Sam ever remembered her life as Princess Serenity Luna seriously doubted that she and the princess would have that kind of relationship again.
Luna was a little annoyed that Sam had decided to pursue a career in the military because she knew that the government would get involved. It wasn’t that Luna had anything against the U.S. government. Rather, the lunar advisor would have just preferred to have as little interference in the Scout’s business as she could get. After all, politicians have that one of a kind talent for causing trouble in something simple. That’s why the Silver Millennium was an absolute monarchy, no politicians to ruin paradise.
Pretty much the only thing about this situation that Luna was happy about was the fact that her memories had remained intact instead of becoming Swiss cheese. Luna knew that she had Sailor Pluto to thank for that blessing. If the Senshi of Time hadn’t popped in from time to time to make the needed adjustments to the hibernation capsules Luna doubted that she would be able to even remember her own name.
Thanks to having her memories Luna had been able to figure out that Sam was the Moon Princess because there had been no Sailor Moon in the past. It was simple deduction because the only people who had been sent forward that could awaken before the Moon Princess gained her full power were the Scouts, the Moon Princess, and the Earth Prince. Of course, Luna was not about to mention that Sam was the Moon Princess to anyone at the moment. Not only would Sam not believe her, but it could land the princess in serious trouble with her boss. Sailor Pluto had made Luna all too aware of the fraternization regulations and the fact that there were some unsavory people who would pull every dirty trick in the book to gain control of the SGC. A romance between Sam and Jack, even if it had been in a past life, might provide those people with a way to put their foot in the door.
Luna really hoped that she would eventually find a way to help Sam and Jack get together. The one real downside to soul mates was the fact that they never could be permanently happy in a relationship with someone other then their soul mate. Something always came up that would destroy any relationship that a person had if it wasn’t with their soul mate.
