Michiru and Haruka looked at their unknown helper and then glanced at each other. Neither of them was very trusting of strangers especially when it came to Senshi business. It came with having to worry if someone new was an enemy in disguise. However, this man had saved them from being spider chow and their enemies weren’t clever enough for stabbing someone in the back tactics. They then nodded their heads and returned their gaze to the masked helper. Michiru then calmly said, “Who are you and why did you help us?”
Ranma bowed his head a little and replied, “I helped you two out because you needed help at that moment. My personal code doesn’t let me sit around when someone’s in trouble. As for my name, well I never got around asking Hades what I should be called in this form.”
At this point Haruka blinked her eyes and then blurted out, “Hades, as in the Greek god of the underworld Hades?”
Instantly Ranma nodded his head and said, “Yep that’s him. Hades is one of my patrons along with his queen and he provides the boost I get in this form. Never really got around to asking him what he wanted me to be called when I’m in this getup. Too busy training with my powers to make sure I didn’t do something stupid when I got into a fight to bother with unimportant small stuff like that.”
The two Outer Senshis turned to look at each other again with quizzical looks on their faces. Neither of them was quite sure what they should make of the man in front of them. On the one had the guy had been helpful and knew what he was doing in a fight. On the other hand, what kind of person considered their name to unimportant? Eventually they silently decided that this oddity wasn’t too bad as far as personality quarks went. It was better that the man trained his abilities and not bother coming up with a name instead of having a flashy name and not bothering to train his abilities.
Michiru decided that it might be useful to try and be friendly with unnamed man in front of her. Not only was it a reasonable thing to do after the man saved her life, but annoying the apparent servant of a god wasn’t exactly the smartest thing to do. In her usual calm tone Michiru said, “I am Sailor Neptune and this is my companion Sailor Uranus. How about we call you Hades Kamen? There’s another man in the city that helps out on protecting the city from monsters named Tuxedo Kamen. Your outfits are very similar and personally I think that Hades Kamen is more elegant then Tuxedo Hades.”
Ranma shrugged his shoulders and said, “If you want to call me Hades Kamen that’s fine Neptune. I don’t care too much about what I’m known as so long as I can help defend other people from these monsters. That’s why I agreed to this gig and the monkey suit in the first place. Don’t worry, I won’t but into any of your fights unless you really need a helping hand or a civilian’s about to be hurt. Trust me I know how annoying it is for someone to interrupt you in the middle of a fight.”
Haruka listened to what Hades Kamen was saying and quickly decided that she liked the new guy. He reminded her of some of her friends down at the race track only he was better behaved then those guys were. As long as this guy behaved himself Haruka was willing to consider working with him. In her usual confident tone she said, “If you pull your weight like you did today I don’t think there will be too much trouble with you helping us.”
While Ranma was quite miffed at being talked to in such a manner he did remember that the only person that these girls had to compare him to was that light weight that his uniform was based on. Orpheus had been hounding on Ranma to learn to keep his tongue in check and with supreme effort Ranma managed to hold back in insult. Ranma then pulled out his top had and said, “Till next time then.” With that he put on his hat and vanished from Michiru’s and Haruka’s sight.
