"What the hell kind of order is that?" Kurz muttered, letting disgust show on his features. "Calling us up just so that we can sit around?"
"The 'do it or get shot' kind."
"Oh, come on. Don't you find it a bit silly to put us on standby without letting us know what we're waiting for?"
"My feelings on it aren't the important thing. We're needed to do a job, and we're going it."
"That's still a bit too simple for me," the blond man told her, and glanced over at the other male in the trio. "Why don't you speak up, man? You can see how strange this all is, right?"
"No matter how bizarre the situation may seem, orders are orders. It is our duty to follow them," Sosuke replied, his stern expression never wavering.
"Should have figured that you'd say that."
"Don't you get it?" Melissa growled, tensing her shoulders as she walked.
"Oh?"
"This isn't just some regular mission. If it was, then they wouldn't have made sure to pick us. Whatever it is, they need us to be ready to handle it.
Weber let his eyes narrow into the look that he used when he was using his talents as a sniper. "They don't know what they're dealing with. So, they can't tell use what to expect."
"Probably."
"Damn. That's the worst kind of situation to go in to... almost."
"What could be worse?" the sergeant major demanded.
"Going in with bad intel. It's one thing if you know you're about to run right into the unknown. It's quite another when you prepare for the wrong sort of crap out there."
"I'd... like to argue with that, but I can't."
"Why not just get everyone on the problem then?"
"And cause a panic?" she bit out.
The youngest of the three of them let his frown deepen by a fraction. "It would serve no purpose to get hasty at this point. Restraint will be needed to get the proper information to complete a battle plan."
"Hey, don't you worry about me," the older man commented, smirking just a bit. "I can get the job done."
"Let's hope so," Melissa scoffed, while:
