"Yes," said Artemis. "You were right. The building that went up in that Yakuza turf war was only a few years old. Before that, there was a park there."
"As I thought," said Setsuna. "Anything else?"
"There's some stories before the building was erected of the area becoming haunted," said Artemis. "People seeing ghostly images, or hearing bizarre noises, or feeling odd chills or heat."
"There was a dimensional rip of some sort there over ten years ago, it left an area where the walls of reality are slightly weak," said Setsuna by means of explanation.
"The company's name was Omnitech," said Artemis. "It apparently specializes in using computer technology to enhance other sorts of equipment. Making a computer system that regulates fuel usage in a car, for example."
"'Omnitech'," murmurred Setsuna. "Hmmm. How technologically advanced are they?"
"That was one of the curious things," said Artemis. "From what I've uncovered, they were more advanced than just about anything I've seen in this era."
"As I thought," said Setsuna.
"What?" asked Luna, the black cat seeming to melt out of the dark. "Something came from outside our dimension, but it's using technology more fitting with this era? That doesn't make any sense."
"It wouldn't if this were the same Dark Kingdom you've been fighting," said Setsuna. "It WOULD if this is someone who used advanced technology to breach the dimensions in an area left weakened by the event I spoke of earlier."
"WHAT?!" asked Luna.
"Shhhhh," counseled Artemis and Setsuna.
"You know more than you're saying," accused Luna.
"Always," admitted Setsuna.
"So... this explains what?" asked Artemis.
"It doesn't explain Asgard though," mused Setsuna.
"What's an 'ass guard'?" asked Luna. "Wait a minute. I don't want to know with a name like that."
"Asgard is the home of the Norse gods, the Vanir and the Aesir. Mainly the Aesir," said Setsuna.
"And they're coming to invade Earth and suck out people's life energies?" asked Luna.
"No," said Setsuna. "They weren't a terribly pleasant group of people. Some more unpleasant than others. Thor, for example, has a reputation of being a generally good-hearted but not necessarily bright fellow."
"Sort of like Ranma then," mused Luna.
"That might actually be it," said Setsuna. "Though I do have one more question."
"What's that?" asked Luna.
"Are there any marshmallows around here?" asked Setsuna. "It's been ages since I've had s'mores."
