It wasn't that Furinkan High School was next to the Tendo house. It wasn't that there was a very nice picture-perfect lake between Furinkan and a mountain. It wasn't even that there was no sign of anyone else around. There might not be a whole lot of Japanese who were used to going days between seeing anyone else - but he managed that every time his Pop had gone off on that training journey on little saki binges.
"What the heck is this anyway?" asked Ranma after checking out the other two buildings. They looked familiar but he wasn't too sure where he'd seen them before.
That neither building was correct was also something Ranma noticed.
The doors that were fused to the frame. Chairs that couldn't be moved. Bricks that fused into wood. Frypans which were welded into place on the stove. It was an imperfect copy and it took Ranma not long at all to figure that out.
"Crap," said Ranma. "I'm in one of those gaijin SF TV shows. The 'Twilight Limits' or 'Outer Zone' or something. Alien zoo time. No freakin' giant hamster wheel at least."
Apple trees, pear trees, banana trees, plum trees, lemon trees. Ranma scratched his head after passing another grove of fruit trees that he was pretty sure weren't supposed to look like this.
