CC Pokegirls: Side Activities [Episode 213356]

by Kender

School wasn't something that Ami was all that bothered by, unlike most girls of her age. In fact, she rather liked classes, as she enjoyed learning as much as she could. For her, discovering all the little bits of information, no matter how trivial, was like going on a treasure hunt, and she could enjoy either having free access to a university library or being able to tinker for hours on end.

And she was now fairly salivating, like a dog being given a set of prime ribs all to herself.

Akane looked over at her friend with a wary eye, but didn't draw away. "They kind of like it if we join a club or take some minor since it means that we're getting involved and stuff."

"You mean... they want us to get into stuff like this?" Ami asked, her expression hopeful.

"It's kind of important to them."

"Really?"

The shop class teacher merely looked over at the new student and wondered why it seemed that she was almost glowing. Near as it seemed, she had the sort of passion for it that other students lacked, but that didn't guarantee that there was something good that would come of it. In fact, seeing as she was merely a little girl, she was probably not going to do all that well in the beginning.

"Umm... teach?" murmured one of the boys.

Glancing over at the kid, the teacher frowned. "Yes? What is it?"

"It's about the new girl."

"What about her?"

"She just started on working with the equipment."

"So?" asked the instructor. "That's what we call 'inititive'."

"Yeah, well, she just made a clock radio out of a piece of glass, some wires, some metal and a bit of plastic sheeting."

Whipping around, the teacher looked to see that, yes, the girl in question had built a complicated device out of scraps.

For her part, Akane wondered why people kept on suggesting that she go to classes like this one, but was happy that her friend seemed to be so pleased with being there.

"Wow!" one of the girls cried out as a blonde blur sped by. "With her in our class, we can win the sports fest for sure!"

Another girl gave a snort and raised her brows at the first speaker. "'Sports fest' nothing. Our school will dominate all the others at the competition!"

"You must be happy about that, Nabiki," a third girl murmured dryly.

"I guess," Nabiki allowed from where she sat on the grass.

"What's the matter? You already used to it?"

"Something like that. But I'm also just realizing that she does this for fun."

"I guess you're right about that. But don't you want to bet on her success?"

Blinking over at the other girls, the middle Tendo daughter shrugged. "Not really."

"Oh? Why not?"

"Why would I bet on a sure thing?"

It took a moment for the other students to realize the truth of what she'd said, and when they did, they nodded and made sounds of agreement.

Nabiki just brushed it off as she tucked her knees closer to her body and wondered about why the school still made them wear these clingy bloomers.

"So this is where you spend your time?" Setsuna asked, glancing over at her companion before turning her gaze back to the room at large.

Kasumi nodded and gave a small smile. "We're really proud of it, you know. It's quite wonderful to have a space like this where we can make things that please people."

"I thought that was what you did in the other room."

"Oh?"

"In that kitchen area. You do like to make meals that everyone wants to eat. And since you're so good at it...."

"I just like to cook," the human girl whispered, blushing intensely.

"Then it's good that you are skilled at it," Setsuna commented, and decided to give her friend a break. "What do you do here?"

"Well, we sew and men clothes here. It might not seem like much, but we learn a lot in doing it."

"For the Home Economics club?"

"That, and for home. You'd be surprised about what we can do. And we do a lot of projects with the other clubs as well."

"Sounds interesting," the pokegirl admitted.

"I'd like to think so. Why, we help with the Drama Club's costumes, help the sports teams with their uniforms sometimes, and have done some joint things with the Fashion Club."

"'Fashion Club'?"

"Yes, they like to make lots of things, like clothes, hats, and purses!" Kasumi told her, and cocked her head to the side. "They are really quite good in doing it too."

"So you say," drawled a male voice.

"Hmmm? Ah, Koizumi! How nice to see you!"

Turning to look, Setsuna stopped as she saw a tall young man with short blue hair standing there with a pink haired girl and a blond man, each of whom had managed to alter their uniforms to look professionally designed without going beyond the regulations enough to be punished.

"What?" the blue haired guy murmured. "Do you have something to say?"

"Actually, yes, I do," the green haired pokegirl replied.

"And what would that be?"

"I'm joining the Fashion Club."

That clearly surprised the other two, as their eyes widened and their mouths dropped open, but the lead guy just raised a brow at her.

"Setsuna, how nice that you've found something that you like!" Kasumi chirped.

The blue haired boy gave a small smile. "Indeed."

Not that Setsuna was at all put off by the lack of enthusiasm, as it was clear that she was being accepted, while:
