Down The Winding Road: In Which Meiou Setsuna Talks About Several Confusing Matters [Episode 213664]

by Linnara

Meiou Setsuna looked on at her dreams of Crystal Tokyo, and sighed yet again.

"You know, it's so unfair. All those tramatic memories rumbling around in my head, and as things turned out, a great deal of them weren't even really mine at all to begin with! I mean, really..."

"Hmmm?" Little Usagi tilted her blonde head. "Not Secchan's memories?"

Aw, how cute. Setsuna smiled, ruffling the seemingly four-year-old girl's hair while Young Mamoru looked on, a faint sadness lurking in his eyes.

"Noo, you see - the Pluto that was in the fight with the Black Moon Family and the Death Busters wasn't really me, as it turns out. That was a different Pluto, and a different Meiou Setsuna. Well, I think her name was Meiou Setsuna once, too, anyhow..."

Setsuna sighed, thinking about the Baby Pluto she'd seen on her com. Same chocolate colored skin, same red eyes, so tiny and - well, she was cute, anyhow. Yup.

" - Oh." Little Usagi looked puzzled. "Like - like Mamoru-chan and the Prince?"

Young Mamoru blinked at that. So did Setsuna. Little Usagi was aware of quite a lot of things, it seemed...

"Um, no, that's a bit different - the, um, Prince is who Mamoru-kun used to be a long time ago, when he was somebody different. They both have the same soul. The same Starseed. Or they should, anyway."

"Mmmm." Little Usagi nodded, as Young Mamoru looked quietly to the side. The sound of a harp drifted through the place of dreams. softly.

"The Prince is made of Mamoru-chan's dreams..."

Setsuna blinked, as did Mamoru. Ahh.

"The other Pluto wasn't - really the same person as me in the first place, though I didn't really figure it out till later. But she was a Pluto, and we were very similar in some ways, though not at all in others, so - when she first came here, to what she thought of as 'the 20th century' - well, I began to dream of her. And she of me, maybe - though I'm not too sure about that part..."

"Her dreams went sloshy?"

"Yes, yes, they went sloshy-sloshy into my dreams - which was annoying, I tell you. As well as being distracting as heck - I thought I was losing my mind or something. And I worked hard for that Mugen Graduate School Schoolorship, darnit - ah, never mind. So anyway, when she died - "

"...D-died?" Little Usagi sniffled, her eyes wide. "...Pluto died? When?"

Oops.

"...Mu...Mu...the big school?"

It was strange, how Usagi seemed to just know some things, sometimes...

" - Yes, then. But she got all better afterwards, so it's all right..."

"...She got better?"

"Uh, huh. Neo Queen Serenity made a new body for her, so she's all better now. She's a baby, though!"

Setsuna showed them an image of Baby Pluto. Little Usagi and Young Mamoru both googled at the cute little baby.

"See? She's all right, Usako..." Young Mamoru patted her head.

" - OK..."

"...And what happened then, Setsuna-san?" Young Mamoru prompted. Setsuna sighed.

"Well, as I said, she died, and then - I woke up with a headfull of really garbled memories and dreams and Sailor Pluto's transformation pen on top of my futon. And things were very, very confusing."

Setsuna sighed, then. For a long time, Setsuna had simply assumed that she actually was the other Pluto, who'd been 'reborn' as Meiou Setsuna in the 20th century by Neo Queen Serenity's hand. Though there had been some memories from that 'other self' that she had found - puzzling...

Little Usagi and Young Mamoru both smiled and patted her hand. Setsuna blinked. Had she looked that ...despondent, or something?
