Glancing over her shoulder, Akane gave her short haired sister a frown. "Why would we? The buses drop us off close enough, and we can walk over to the shrine simply enough.
"Besides," Kasumi chirped as turned to face the other girls, "isn't such a nice day for getting out for a nice stroll?"
"Yeah, it sure is. And on top of that, this saves you money, Nabiki."
"Oh, wonderful. Imagine my delight," the middle Tendo daughter grumbled.
"What's your problem, anyway?"
"Nothing. I just didn't think that I'd be getting exercise today."
"Then just count it as a bonus," the blue haired teen suggested.
Nabiki considered scowling at her younger sibling before shrugging it off as a waste of energy. She'd forgotten that both of her sisters had long been used to walking from place to place, and over long distances, so they weren't going to take her side on this. But then again, this wasn't exactly an awful thing to go through, and there was too much to be happy about to whine about this little bit.
However, one person hadn't piped in with his sentiments. "I'm sure that getting there faster in a taxi would have suited you, right, Ranma?"
"Huh?" the pigtailed boy grunted, barely glancing over to her. "What's that?"
Shaking her head, the short haired girl just reminded herself that it was pointless to talk to him when they were getting so much closer to what was distracting him.
It was nice to have so many people there to party, but Skuld had to wonder how many of them actually understood what was going on there. She had nothing against the idea that they could come to visit, as many of them were friends of long standing. This was supposed to be about the return of her husband to her, and she wanted to focus solely on that. Just what all this celebrating would make that into was anyone's guess, which bothered her just a bit.
Sighing, she looked around at all the happy faces, and found it hard to complain all that loudly. Not only were they there because of her, but they were all genuinely enjoying themselves, which she couldn't ignore. Here was a group of people who had found a bond that they would easily hold on to, and that made them almost like a... family.
Still, there was one major piece missing, and without him, she couldn't even think of allowing herself to relax and enjoy the festivities. Once he arrived, it would be a wonderful thing, and she could truly feel wonderful. Having everyone else around was terrific, and she wouldn't have replaced them for anything, but there was only one particular man in her heart.
One moment, Marller felt bothered, but otherwise fine. But in the next instance, it was like an early frost had spilled across her back. Just what that was on that warm day, she couldn't tell, but it didn't seem that it was the sort of thing that was good for her health. Something about it made her concerned, and she had a sense that she should be really worried right about then.
"Maybe someone tried to make it snow in the offices again," she muttered to herself.
As much as he liked the shrine, Ranma wasn't merely happy to see it as a friendly spot to return to. He was already looking around the grounds as he came through the front gate, and as he stepped across from the temple building. The crowds were a surprise, but there was something there that made such concerns unimportant, and when he saw what he'd come for, he didn't hold back. "Skuld!"
Hearing her name called out by that voice made the young goddess spin about to face the speaker. All the other worries just fell by the wayside as she sought out that one man that she had been waiting for. Spotting him didn't take much time, and as she realized that he was really there, she immediately ran towards him. "Ranma!"
Arms outstretched, Ranma caught Skuld as she raced over to him and hugged her as tightly as he dared. Lifting her into the hair, he spun around, clearly happy to have there with him again, and not caring how many people saw it. Not that she was complaining as she cupped his cheeks with her slender hands and lowered her mouth to his.
So, with catcalls, whistles, and indulgent smiles all around them, husband and wife shared a kiss deep with the love that they had for each other, while:
