And when they pulled apart, they didn't mind stopping to stare happily into the eyes of the other, even as they blushed over how forward they'd been only moments before.
They might have continued on... had Nabiki popped in next to them with a wry grin on her face. "Are you two having fun all by yourselves?"
The sudden intrusion set the couple bouncing apart, flushed over their embarrassment at being caught out. However, that didn't mean that they totally separated, as they still held hands. Yet, they clearly didn't want to show as much intimacy in public as they already had.
So, Ranma merely stood there, lightly scratching at his nose with his free hand, and looking uncertain about what he should have been doing.
"What's it to you?" Skuld ground out, clearly not as tongue tied as her husband. "It's not like you have any say in this."
"That's true enough," Nabiki murmured.
"Exactly!"
Akane scowled at her sister. "Then why did you say anything?"
"Why not? Besides, I figured that it might be best to let them make the choice if they want to show off for the crowd here," the middle Tendo sister commented.
The couple turned a brighter pink, if that was possible, but didn't look ashamed of what they'd done.
"I think that it's rather cute," Megumi murmured as she leaned in towards her friend.
"He is a lucky man," Tamiya put in, giving the married teen a friendly thump on his back. "And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy."
Already used to the large man's heavy handed moves, Ranma had braced himself for the 'pat', but still had to fight to keep himself from stepping forward. "Ya don't have ta tell me that. I know every day that I'm fortunate to have her be mine."
"Just what I meant. So, hopefully you'll be staying around for as long as possible this time."
"That was the plan."
"Great! That means that we can take you out to eat, we can play some games, and maybe you can join in on some races," Tamiya suggested.
"Are ya trying to get me ta join the club again?"
"Would I do something like that?"
Everyone else just stopped for a long moment and stared at him.
"What?"
"Forget about all that and lets get to what's really important here," Chihiro chirped, coming up being the couple and looping her arms around their wrists near where they held hands. "There's a party to get to, and I'm sure that everyone wants to have their fun."
Most of the attendees gave off a cheer at her suggestion.
"See? So let's have us some fun!"
Marller wasn't quite sure as to what exactly was causing all the commotion, but did want to find out. Whatever it was, it was enough for everyone at that temple to stop and pay attention, which could be useful, if used the right way. Unfortunately, she hadn't been invited, and so couldn't see from this far away.
It didn't really matter though, as she was sure that she could make it work this time. Sure, those goddesses tended to have good fortune around them, but that was the nature of who they were. If it was going to be easy, then it wouldn't have taken someone of her power level to even try this situation. Instead, she had to work at it, but it was nice that the 'Ranma' kid wasn't around, since he had a habit of making well laid plans almost literally blow up in her face. Having the chance to cause chaos was nicer now, and she liked the more understandable deviations that were going on now.
Then again, she was looking forward to the day when she could have an opportunity to really show that pigtailed center of havoc what a real headache was.
Right now though, she was aiming to see what sort of fun she could get to do. Once that happened, she could worry about everything else. This was possibly a time that she could get to use to her advantage, and it seemed that it was being dropped right into her lap. For her, that was the sort of blessing that she would take, and she didn't want to analyze the sudden opportunity, while:
