"I used to think that she wasn't that bad of a sort," Kasumi allowed, and pressed her lips together. "But lately...."
"She's been getting very arrogant," Hitomi bit off.
"It used to be that she was just a bit... uptight, but she's been changing. I don't know what could be making her go like this...."
"What does it matter? It's not like we can make her into some sort of cute idol, complete with frills."
They might have had other things to worry about, but Ayane found that she still had to bother the martial artist if she had the chance... and she had one right then. "Oh, and here I thought that the two of you would be friends. Shouldn't the two of you be friends, seeing as you're both from Europe?"
"She's French and I'm German! That's two different countries! We don't live anywhere near each other," Hitomi shot back, glaring at the younger kunoichi.
"I suppose."
"Trust me, I'm not looking to be friendly with that... bitchy stalker."
"Hold on a moment...."
Kasumi waved her hand at the other girls and made sure that she caught their attention. "We still have to figure out what exactly we're going to do. I mean, having Helena around might make things worse."
"No doubt about it," the part German girl sighed. "Even without those connections of hers, just having another woman interested in him isn't going to help any of us."
"Don't you have connections of your own?"
"My family doesn't deal in things like high electronics like hers does."
"Not to mention that she has the ability to get others to do her work for her. And she's not shy about doing that," Ayane commented, any teasing tone abandoned for complete seriousness.
"If only she hadn't wound up encountering him like she did. Then maybe she might have merely watched as someone... else took him on," Kasumi murmured.
Both of the younger girls nodded, and they shared in a brief, and unusual moment of agreement, while:
