Itachi's Heir: The Devil Hunter in the details [Episode 214760]

by HistorianoftheKais

In Sirius's mind, there was only one major downside to being little Harry's new guardian besides the fact that his parents were dead: going through all of the Potter legal papers. He and James had never liked the more mundane aspects of being heads of their respective houses and now Sirius had to manage two houses! The Most Ancient and Noble House of Black had fallen on Sirius since he was the only living male Black; his mother had died of a heart attack when she found out that Lily had killed Voldemort.

Still, as troublesome as the paperwork was, Sirius found the Potter records fascinating. James had left almost all of the paperwork and investing up to Lily, and boy was she a financial wizard. Investing in the Muggle World was defiantly the way of the future.

Sirius had just finished looking over the last of the Potter stocks when a document caught his eye. Reaching over, Sirius picked up the document and began to read it out loud. "I, Lily Potter, Lady of the Ancient and Noble House of Potter, do hereby agree that my son, Harry Potter, Master of the Ancient and Noble House of Potter, is to be betrothed to Yohko Mano of the Devil Hunters. The marriage is to take place as soon as Yohko has gain enough mastery over her devil hunter abilities so that the consummation of the marriage may take place without affecting Yohko's devil hunter abilities."

Old Padfoot couldn't believe what he was reading. Why would Lily agree to an arraigned marriage for Harry? That was so unlike her! Almost immediately, Sirius smacked himself for forgetting that there was more to Lily than she had shown. Yesterday he had found Lily's letter explaining just who her real father was and her abilities. If she could hide the fact that she was secretly the Burning Reaper, as many of the Purebloods called the unknown Death Eater killer, than why was it such a surprise that she would agree to an arraigned marriage?

After throwing the betrothal contract on his desk, Sirius placed his head in his hands and began to mull over the possibilities. At first he thought about breaking the contract, but Lily had added some pretty steep penalties in the contract if it was broken on the Potter side. She obviously knew that James might object to her plans and had added those penalties to keep the contract around.

All and all, Sirius couldn't really find anything wrong with the contract; except for the fact it would mean that Harry would have a ball and chain as a toddler. The Manos, while not exactly witches, were respected in the eastern magical world. Finally, Sirius muttered to himself, "Looks like I'm going to have to teach Harry these ninja skills if he's going to impress his new wife to be."
